after a briefing of the consequences of such disclosure. In interviewing victims of
GBV for media, gender-sensitive language and behavior must be used to lessen trauma
on the victim.
In relation to advertisements, it is suggested that the Ordinance on Advertisement
and its decree prohibit gender discrimination in advertising activities. Guidelines on
what acts constitute discrimination in advertising activities should be drafted. The prohibited
acts should include: (a) specifying the sex of the person required in relation to
advertisement for services; (b) derogatory statements against one sex; and (c) advertisements
that portray one sex as inferior or superior.
