of GBV, publishing information that will identify the victim without prior informed consent<br />

after a briefing of the consequences of such disclosure. In interviewing victims of<br />

GBV for media, gender-sensitive language and behavior must be used to lessen trauma<br />

on the victim.<br />

In relation to advertisements, it is suggested that the Ordinance on Advertisement<br />

and its decree prohibit gender discrimination in advertising activities. Guidelines on<br />

what acts constitute discrimination in advertising activities should be drafted. The prohibited<br />

acts should include: (a) specifying the sex of the person required in relation to<br />

advertisement for services; (b) derogatory statements against one sex; and (c) advertisements<br />

that portray one sex as inferior or superior.<br />
