In the context of (e) mentioned above, it is necessary to rate the
performance of the individuals. Therefore, a performance rating certificate for all
the personnel deployed on ICB roads will be initiated and reviewed by Chief
Engineer. It will be forwarded to GREF Records and copy to be kept in the ACR
Dossier or service documents of individual (for whom ACR is not applicable).
Format of performance certificate is attached at appendix „B‟.
16. Classification of areas for deployment of BRO Personnel will be notified by HQ DGBR
from time to time as under :-

Hard Hard Area (HHA)
Hard Area (HA)

Most attractive station (MAS)

Extreme hostile area (EHA)
Moderate hostile area (MHA)
Tenure of Stay
17. Barring organisation and administrative requirements, which may necessitate
enhancement/curtailment of these tenures, generally the length of tenure in the following areas
(for all pers incl PNR) will be as under:-
(a) HQ DGBR - 2 ½ to 3 Years
(b) GREF Centre/GREF Records - 2 ½ to 3 Years
(c) High Altitude Area (HAA) - 26 Months for 1 st tenure
22 Months for 2 nd tenure
(d) Hard Hard Area (HHA) - 3 to 3 ½ Years
(e) Hard Area (HA) - 3 to 3 ½ Years
(f) Soft Area (SA) - 3 to 3 ½ Years
(g) Most attractive station (MAS) - 2 ½ to 3 Years
(h) BCA area - 2 Years
(j) MCA area - 2 Years
(k) Extremely hostile area (EHA) - 3 Years
(l) Moderately hostile area (MHA) - 3 to 3 ½ Years
