REPORTING OF CASUALTIES : ACCIDENTS, INJURIES, SICKNESS
BATTLE ACCIDENTS AND CASUALTIES MISSING :
ARMY AND GREF PERSONNEL
1. Casualties / accidents are unpredictable specially in an Organisation like GREF/BRO
where the employees are posted and deployed at extreme border/far-flung areas of the nation and
their unique functioning. Therefore, it has become inevitable to lay down a uniform procedure of
reporting of such casualties through departmental channel for proper appraisal at various levels
as well as to keep its record.
Aim
2. Aim of this ROI is to lay down the procedure as to how the different type of casualties
are to be reported for immediate action by all concerned
Procedure
3. The following procedure will be strictly followed by all GREF formations/units in
reporting casualties occurring amongst :-
(a)
(b)
(c)
(d)
Army personnel serving with GREF Formation/units.
Personnel directly recruited in GREF.
Personnel on deputation from different deptts.
Casual employees locally recruited/engaged.
4. For the purposes of these instructions casualties are defined as under :-
(a) Physical Casualties:- Physical casualties are those which occur in non-operation
areas where there is no fighting. Such casualties fall into the following categories :-
(i)

Died or Killed
Seriously or Dangerously ill
Ill
Wounded or injured (including self inflicted)
Missing
