<strong>The</strong>re are a few <strong>in</strong>consistencies between the two tables shown above, but they provide a good<br />

overview <strong>of</strong> the spread <strong>of</strong> m<strong>in</strong>eral exploitation <strong>in</strong> the prov<strong>in</strong>ce.<br />

Cassiterite<br />

<strong>The</strong> most important axis runs through the center <strong>of</strong> the prov<strong>in</strong>ce from Kalima to Kasese, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Pangi, K<strong>in</strong>du, Kailo and Punia territories. Cassiterite is also produced elsewhere, but <strong>in</strong> smaller<br />

quantities.<br />

Wolframite<br />

Wolframite is particularly exploited <strong>in</strong> the area around Kailo centre, though it is not as important<br />

as cassiterite.<br />
