He was one of the greatest artists that the world has ever known. He was a Renaissance painter, sculptor, inventor, architect and engineer. Leonardo's interests were so broad. He was a genius who was interested in everything around him. He spent most of his time studying science, human anatomy and physiology. He could play musical instruments and sing. He was a poet and he loved playing jokes and tricks on people. Leonardo kept illustrated notebooks in which he wrote in a secret mirror-writing about everything he found out. His notebooks were on four main themes: architecture, elements of mechanics, painting and human anatomy. After his death his notebooks were forgotten for many years. When they were found again people were amazed to see the number of his inventions. He described: an alarm clock, a submarine, a helicopter, a parachute and advanced weapons. Today people travel from all parts of the world to admire his paintings like “The last supper”, “Mona Lisa”, “The Virgin of the Rocks” and “Lady with an Ermine”, which you can see in Cracow. 1.
