Importance of Having a Primary Care Physician
Many patients today are frustrated
with trying to navigate through our
nation’s increasingly fragmented and
complicated health care system. To avoid
unnecessary lab and medical tests, as
well as improve the quality of care and
communication with specialists, it is best
to consolidate your medical care, health
history and medical records into as few
places as possible. This is referred to as a
patient-centered medical home.
A patient-centered medical home
provides an ongoing relationship and
partnership with a personal primary care physician who provides
continuous and comprehensive primary care.
will be there to guide you and to coordinate all aspects of your care.
You and your physician will work together to achieve the best possible
outcome in the most cost-effective manner. Trinity Clinic has over 110
Elysian Fields
Yellowjackets
It was only one game, but it cost Elysian Fields a
chance at the playoffs. A 14-13 loss to Harleton in the
first game of district put the ‘Jackets in a tie for third, a
tie they lost with Harleton.
“It was tough,” said head coach Jack Parker, “We
ended up winning three in a row to end the year, and
felt that we were a playoff team, but we had a hiccup
at the beginning, and it cost us.”
Parker doesn’t need to motivate his kids after that; he
says they are itching to go.
He will have to choose a quarterback. A battle is
brewing between seniors Austin Delk and Brandon
Gowin for the starting spot behind center.
“One of them will win the job, but as we learned last
year, we have got to have both guys ready to go, so
they will both get action.”
To help the cause on offense, either man will have to
look no further than at running back, where a bruising
6’0 260 pound Tyrell McKee stands, ready to tote the
rock. “He is a man, he is huge, and we are going to
use him to our advantage.”
Harleton Wildcats
2008 was not the greatest year in Harleton football
history. Even though the Wildcats were in the playoffs,
they were one and done, something that head coach
Dennis Alexander says won’t happen again.
“We just got tired last year; that is what it comes down
to. We had too many kids that had to play the entire
game on both sides.”
Alexander was perfectly clear about his team in ’09
that the Wildcats have got to be ready.
District 18-2A
Coleman Swierc - KLTV 7 Sports Anchor/Reporter
In This Big District, The Bottom Is Ready To Move To The Top
It is no secret that in district 18-2A that the top dogs reside in Harmony and White Oak.
What may cause problems for the top two are the rest of the teams, as the district shapes up to be the toughest that it has been in several years.
“The district is tough, White Oak is probably the favorite, but after that, every team has a shot of getting in,” said Union Grove head coach Marty
Moore.
2008 saw both Harmony and White Oak dominate the field, with Harleton squeezing in the playoffs in the third spot.
“The district will be much better this year. The difference between the first and last place teams is going to shrink dramatically,” said White Oak head
coach Tracy Blankenship.
Most of the coaches agree that 2009 could be one of the toughest that the district has seen, with most noting expected improvements out of Sabine,
Elysian Fields and Union Grove.
The sleeper may be the Wildcats at Winona, as coach Mike Sorenson has seen his squad improve every year while he has been at the helm.
Sorenson had the pre-season quote of the year as well,
“We used to be everyone’s homecoming team. Teams would schedule us because they thought they could beat us easily. I tell you what, if a team
wants to schedule us for homecoming this year, then they better bring some extra make-up, because the homecoming queen will be crying.”
This ought to be fun.
McKee will have some help. Jed Crisp will move to
the wide receiver spot and Santos Duran will return at
tight end. The big key will be up front. Elysian Fields
returns four out of five starters on the front line. “We
were so young up front last year, now we have kids
who are experienced and know how to win.”
Defensively, the ‘Jackets will return starting defensive
ends Stanly Roquemore and Corey Fielder, alongside
all-district pick Rodney Sutton in the defensive
backfield.
“Our guys know that we can play, now all we have to
do is go out there an prove it.”
“I think we are going to have one of the smallest
varsity squads in a long time, so we cannot be fooling
around in the off-season, we have got to be in shape
and ready to go.”
He does have positions that he need not worry
about, especially on offense, where Harleton brings
back seven starters, including the 18-2A Receiver
of the year Connor Lloyd and returning starters at
quarterback, Logan Jones and at running back in Greg
Beham.
“Logan is a good player, we put him in tough spots
last year, but if we can avoid that, and he can get the
ball to Connor, we can score on anyone. If Greg can
stay healthy, he will be a force, he has battled little
nagging injuries, but if he can stay on the field, he will
be a huge weapon.”
Along with them, look for Chase Jones to be a factor in
the middle, as he returns to anchor both the offensive
and defensive lines.
There is no doubt the Wildcats have the talent to
compete, but Alexander says if that talent is not on the
field, then not a whole lot can be done.
