WISE COUNTY Fire Departments
Wise County has 17 fire departments. All but
ne are manned entirely by volunteers. Decatur
as several full-time firefighters in addition to
olunteers. Departments sponsor fund-raisers
hroughout the year to help pay expenses. In adition,
each department receives county funding.
