Carolina Certified Turfgrass Professional<br />

(NCCTP) Program establishes your<br />

credentials as an industry expert with<br />

customers, <strong>the</strong> public and your peers.<br />

<strong>The</strong> NCCTP program was created to 1)<br />

improve your job performance by advancing<br />

your knowledge of sound turfgrass management<br />

principles, and 2) increase awareness among<br />

consumers that turfgrass management is a professional<br />

career based on science, and not “just<br />

a job.”<br />

As designated industry experts, only<br />

NCCTPs have access to <strong>the</strong> following:<br />

v Promotional materials and publicity kits<br />

to help promote your certification.<br />

v Customer leads. We forward consumer calls<br />

to <strong>the</strong> office and email requests to local<br />

NCCTPs.<br />

v Enhanced visibility through press releases<br />

and media referrals. As <strong>the</strong> experts, TCNC<br />

plays an active role in keeping NCCTPs<br />

in <strong>the</strong> news through press releases, media<br />

advisories and <strong>the</strong> referral of media calls<br />

to NCCTPs.<br />

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS<br />

FOR TCNC CERTIFICATION<br />

v Minimum of one year of turfgrassmanagement<br />

job experience.<br />

v Current North Carolina pesticide license.<br />

v Completion of an extensive study course<br />

via ei<strong>the</strong>r self-study of course materials, or<br />

through registration in a study-prep program.<br />

v Pass a comprehensive written exam.<br />

v At <strong>the</strong> time of certification, and each year<br />

<strong>the</strong>reafter, maintain TCNC membership.<br />

v Adhere to ongoing TCNC and NCCTP<br />

renewal requirements.<br />

v Subscribe to and uphold <strong>the</strong> TCNC<br />

Certification Code of Ethics.<br />
