<strong>Pageant</strong> Objective<br />

The objective of this pageant is to find a contestant who can ride well, speak to the public about<br />

the sport of rodeo, the <strong>City</strong> of <strong>Lehi</strong>, and the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<strong>Up</strong>, and represent herself, the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<br />

<strong>Up</strong> Rodeo, and its affiliates in a dignified and honorable manner.<br />

General Rules<br />

1. Contestant must be between 17 and 26 years of age as of the day of the contest.<br />

2. Contestants must be a resident of Utah.<br />

3. Contestant must be single, have never been married, and have no children.<br />

4. Contestant must not have been a prior <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<strong>Up</strong> <strong>Queen</strong>.<br />

5. Contestants shall sign a liability waiver (attached).<br />

6. Contestants must conduct themselves in a proper, lady-like manner and portray high moral<br />

standards at all times. Rudeness toward the judges, other contestants, pageant<br />

coordinators, fans, committee/Civic Improvement members, or affiliates by contestants or<br />

contestant parents will not be tolerated. Such conduct may result in disqualification.<br />

7. Contestants must provide their own horse for the horsemanship portion of the pageant.<br />

Winning contestants are required to use this same horse throughout their reign unless<br />

otherwise approved by the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<strong>Up</strong> <strong>Queen</strong> committee.<br />

8. Winner of the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<strong>Up</strong> <strong>Queen</strong> <strong>Pageant</strong> is required to represent the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<strong>Up</strong><br />

Rodeo at the Miss Rodeo Utah pageant. Entry fee will be paid for by the <strong>Lehi</strong> Civic<br />

Improvement Association.<br />

9. Winning contestants must have all other public appearances as the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<strong>Up</strong> Royalty<br />

approved by the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<strong>Up</strong> <strong>Queen</strong> committee.<br />

10. Winning contestants must plan to attend and reign over the ENTIRE LEHI ROUND-UP<br />

RODEO AND CELEBRATION and must agree to represent the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<strong>Up</strong> Rodeo from<br />

April 7, 2012, through the selection of the new <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<strong>Up</strong> Royalty in Spring 2013.<br />

11. Winning contestants must be available for pre/post <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<strong>Up</strong> Rodeo radio, television,<br />

parades, and other public appearances, as scheduled by the committee throughout the<br />

entire rodeo season. (Dates will be determined and winning royalty will be notified as soon<br />

as possible.)<br />

12. At least one member of the royalty must represent and promote the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<strong>Up</strong> Rodeo<br />

at the each performance of the following rodeos: Pleasant Grove, Eagle Mountain,<br />

Herriman and any other rodeos as decided by the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<strong>Up</strong> <strong>Queen</strong> Committee.<br />

Promotional materials to be distributed at each rodeo will be provided by the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<strong>Up</strong><br />

<strong>Queen</strong> committee.<br />

13. Winning contestants must not have affiliation with any other rodeo royalties that have<br />

conflicting schedules with <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<strong>Up</strong> obligations, April 7, 2012 through August 18,<br />

2012. (Miss Rodeo Utah is excluded.)


General Rules (continued)<br />

14. Winning contestants will be required to help clear timed-event cattle from the arena and<br />

may be required to carry flag during the rodeo performances all nights of the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<br />

<strong>Up</strong>.<br />

15. Winning contestants will receive:<br />

<strong>Queen</strong>: Saddle, tiara, buckle, traveling chaps, cash award of $250.00<br />

Attendants: Tiara, buckle, traveling chaps, cash award of $200.00 (each)<br />

Cash prizes will be awarded upon the return of the traveling chaps, in acceptable condition,<br />

at the commencement of the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong> <strong>Up</strong> Rodeo on June 30, 2012.<br />

If for any reason, winning contestants cannot fulfill these obligations through the entire<br />

rodeo season, all prizes must be returned to the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<strong>Up</strong> <strong>Queen</strong> committee<br />

immediately and contestant(s) may forfeit their right to compete in the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<strong>Up</strong><br />

<strong>Queen</strong> <strong>Pageant</strong> in the future.<br />

16. Should the queen be unable to fulfill obligations all prizes and crown, etc., shall be forfeited<br />

to the first runner-up, then second runner-up, alternate, etc., at the committee’s discretion.<br />

17. Winning contestants must provide their own transportation to and from all activities.<br />

18. Contestants must agree to abide by pageant rules with possibility of disqualification for<br />

infractions.<br />

19. All decisions of the judges are final.<br />

20. The <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong> <strong>Up</strong> <strong>Queen</strong> committee reserves the right to alter any rule and has the<br />

authority over any rule discrepancy.<br />

I have read and understand all rules and regulations on the preceding pages. I understand that<br />

the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<strong>Up</strong> <strong>Queen</strong> committee expects me to display the highest degree of sportsmanship<br />

during the pageant and following the coronation. I understand that unsportsmanlike conduct will<br />

not be tolerated and will result in disqualification.<br />

WAIVER AGREEMENT<br />

This agreement must be turned in along with completed application forms. This agreement is<br />

between the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong>-<strong>Up</strong> <strong>Queen</strong> committee and the contestant.<br />

1. Contestant has:<br />

a. received a complete copy of all rules and regulations,<br />

b. read and understands all rules and regulations,<br />

c. had the opportunity to have any questions answered fully.<br />

2. Contestant will adhere to and comply with the rules and regulations.<br />

3. If a contestant observes a violation, such violation shall be made known to pageant<br />

chairman or committee member so that the appropriate actions can be taken.<br />

4. All decisions of the judges are final.<br />

5. Contestant understands there are certain risks and dangers involved in competing in the<br />

<strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong> <strong>Up</strong> <strong>Queen</strong> pageant, and hereby assumes all risks of injury sustained to her<br />

person, of damage or loss to her property during or resulting from her participation in this<br />

pageant and/or related activities if chosen to represent the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong> <strong>Up</strong> Rodeo and<br />

Celebration.<br />

6. Contestant hereby releases the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong> <strong>Up</strong> <strong>Queen</strong> committee, the <strong>Lehi</strong> Civic<br />

Improvement Association, its members and affiliates from any and all claims, demands,<br />

actions, and causes of action of any sort pertaining to any injury to her person, or any<br />

damage or loss to her property during or resulting from her participation in this pageant<br />

and/or related activities if chosen to represent the <strong>Lehi</strong> <strong>Round</strong> <strong>Up</strong> Rodeo and Celebration.<br />

I have read and understand this waiver and the foregoing release of injury. I represent and certify<br />

that my true age is _______ years. If I am under the age of 18 years, I represent and certify that<br />

I have permission and consent of my parent(s) and/or guardian(s) in the slated activities and that<br />

they have knowledge thereof. I represent and certify that if I am chosen to represent the <strong>Lehi</strong><br />

affiliates. Failure to do so will result in the removal of my crown and prize forfeiture as stated in the<br />
