2009 New Projects
North America
LNG Expansion. A contract by UGI
LNG, Inc. to engineer, procure and
construct the expansion of the
Temple LNG peak shaving facility
near Reading, Pennsylvania.
Hydrotreating. A contract to
design and fabricate a distillate
hydrotreating unit for a North
American refinery. CB&I’s scope
of work includes the engineering,
procurement and fabrication of
the hydrotreating unit, which
removes sulfur from diesel by
utilizing a catalyst in the presence
of hydrogen.
Nuclear. A second engineering,
procurement, fabrication
and construction contract by
Westinghouse Electric Company to
build the containment vessels for
a nuclear power plant expansion
in the southeastern U.S. The first
vessel is scheduled for completion
in 2015 and the second in 2018.
Storage. A contract by the
Harrison County Utility Authority
in Mississippi for the engineering,
fabrication and construction of
seven elevated water storage
tanks. The project is an important
part of the Mississippi Gulf Region
Water and Wastewater Plan to
rebuild and storm-proof water
and wastewater infrastructure
impacted by Hurricane Katrina.
Work is scheduled to be
completed in 2011.
Central & South America
Refinery. A project by Refinería de
Cartagena S.A. (REFICAR) for the
engineering, procurement services,
and construction of a new refinery,
with processing capacity of 165,000
barrels per day. This project also
includes revamping an existing
80,000 barrel per day adjacent
refinery in Cartagena, Colombia.
Storage. A contract by Flota
Petrolera Ecuatoriana (FLOPEC) to
design and build storage facilities
for a grassroots liquefied petroleum
gas marine terminal in Ecuador. The
project, located in Monteverde, will
provide Ecuador additional options
for importing LPG, a fuel used
for heating and transportation.
The project is scheduled to be
completed in 2010.
Pipeline. An engineering,
procurement and construction
contract by Petroterminal de
Panama, S.A. for the Phase 2
expansion of the Trans-Panama
Pipeline facilities. The work
scope includes the design and
construction of 5.4 million barrels
of crude oil storage and the
associated civil, mechanical and
electrical work at PTP’s terminal
facilities in Chiriqui Grande on
Panama’s Atlantic coast, and Puerto
Armuelles on the Pacific Coast.
