11.14 Polio Component ($270 M)<br />

The Polio component has been included under the overall financing of the<br />

proposed project by World Bank. About USD 270 million will be used for<br />

vaccine procurement, which will be financed 100% by World Bank. MOHFW will<br />

be the implementing entity. No role of <strong>NVBDCP</strong> has been envisaged for this<br />

component.<br />

11.15 Eligible Expenditure Categories wise<br />

The following table specifies the categories of eligible expenditures and<br />

percentage of expenditure to be financed and reimbursed for eligible<br />

expenditures in each category that may be financed.<br />

Conditions of World Bank<br />

a) “Eligible <strong>Project</strong> State” means a <strong>Project</strong> State that has executed and<br />

furnished a Letter of Undertaking, satisfactory to <strong>NVBDCP</strong> and World Bank.<br />

b) “Eligible <strong>Project</strong> District” means a district certified by <strong>NVBDCP</strong> as ready to<br />

undertake <strong>Project</strong> activities, according to District readiness criteria<br />

acceptable to World Bank.<br />

c) “Other Goods” includes vehicles, furniture, computers hardware and<br />

software, insecticides and insecticide treated bed nets.<br />

d) “Operating Cost” means reasonable and necessary expenditure fro purpose<br />

of implementing the project which includes costs of operation and<br />

maintenance of office, automation, vehicle, payment to contractual staff<br />

salaries of incremental non civil servant staff, travel allowances, vehicle<br />

hiring for project staff for implementation, coordination and monitoring.
