Sitting pretty in Dassia Bay, surrounded by olive-covered
slopes, the Corfu Chandris couldn’t be better placed.
The views are stunning. Factor in landscaped gardens, a
stretch of private beach and two pools and you’ve got a
hotel that’s geared up for relaxation.
It’s all equally handsome when you step inside.
There’s almost a luxury liner feel to the plush lobby with
its potted palms, wrought-iron lanterns and smart club
armchairs. The long curved bar adds to the nautical feel.
Then there’s the food to consider. Overlooking the lagoon is
the main Alkinoos restaurant. Satisfying buffets filled with
tasty international and Mediterranean fare are the order of
the day here. And in the evenings, there’s also a smart à la
carte restaurant. But for something typically Greek, it’s hard
to beat the open-sided beachside taverna, with its checked
tablecloths and striped awnings. It’s an airy but shaded
setting for delicious local specialities.
Finally, families will feel very much at home at the
Corfu Chandris. There’s a club for 4 to 12-year-olds and the
hotel lays on a buffet specially geared to smaller appetites.
