ABOUT AL NOOR
Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs is a non-profit organization
which comes under the Ministry of Social Affairs. For the past 31 years, Al Noor has been
providing high quality, professional training to the Special Needs community of Dubai. In
1981, we started with 8 children and have since grown to a recognized establishment
with over 280 students.
The Centre currently operates in a purpose built facility kindly donated by UAE Vice
President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid
Al Maktoum and through the benefaction of HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein.
The Centre can accommodate up to 300 students with special needs. Our current roster
is comprised of children from 35 nationalities with various physical and cognitive
challenges such as Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and Autism. Al Noor uses a transdisciplinary
approach for its training programmes, and in addition to teaching, offers–
Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Psychological
services, Sports and Music.
Al Noor also has its own Work Placement Unit which trains students with a capability for
open employment.

OUR NEED FOR FUNDRAISING
To maintain high standards for our professional training programmes, the Centre has
to follow an approach of continual improvement and update resources as needed.
The cost of training one child is approximately AED 55,000 per annum and almost 65%
of the students do not pay the full, subsidised fee of AED 25,000 per annum. In this
case, Al Noor seeks corporate and individual sponsors to fund the running expenses
and training imparted to its children, as well as covering the subsidy of all the
students.
The Calendar project is one of our many initiatives for raising funds to cover the huge
subsidy offered to all children whilst offering corporates the opportunity to partner
with us in the cause of children with special needs.

The Al Noor Desk Calendar Project was initiated 21 years ago and ever since has
played a key part in providing much needed support for the Centre. The chosen
theme for the Desk Calendar 2014 will depend on your preferred concept. We are
giving you the liberty of choice for full calendar sponsorship. The exclusivity brought
by this sponsorship brings a huge impact on your support to the Centre, at the same
time to your clients’ impression about your company’s Corporate Social
Responsibility initiative.
The Al Noor Desk Calendar 2014 is an ideal way of saying how much you respect and
appreciate working with your clients as well as providing solace to the children at our
centre by providing much needed funding for their training and running expenses of
the Centre.
In the past, we have been very fortunate to work closely with companies such as
Zafco, BMW Middle East and AGMC, Saleh Bin Lahej Group, and Dulsco who were
exclusive sponsors of the Desk Calendar project.
We circulate the desk calendars to all our supporters (corporates and individuals) and
well wishers. 5

Artwork: Original Artwork done by the very talented children of Al Noor
