Stoichiometric and Kinetic Parameters<br />

The parameters shown in these menus refer to the biological reactions that are described<br />

in Chapter 6, (page 94).<br />

Display Variables<br />

In addition to the standard effluent parameters, there are a number of fixed film specific<br />

variables that can be displayed. Figure 7-7 shows the variables available for display for<br />

the trickling filter.<br />

Trickling Filter Variables<br />

This includes the biofilm thickness for each horizontal section from the top to the bottom<br />

of the filter.<br />

Biofilm Profiles<br />

This provides all the state variables plus the suspended solids composite variable for each<br />

horizontal section of the trickling filter (i.e. six profiles for six horizontal sections). The<br />

first layer in the profile is the liquid film, followed by the biofilm layers (i.e. liquid and<br />

maximum of five biofilm layers).<br />
