115 Suspended Growth Models<br />

Number of diffusers or jets: When the method of specifying the diffuser setup has been<br />

selected as enter number of diffusers, this parameter allows the user to enter the number<br />

of diffusers.<br />

Tank floor area: The area of the tank floor. It is important to enter the tank foor area if<br />

an SOTE correlation is being used or the user requires <strong>GPS</strong>-X to display an accurate<br />

value of the number of diffusers per unit area.<br />

Area per diffuser: The floor area taken up by a diffuser. It is important to enter the area<br />

per diffuser if an SOTE correlation is being used and the user is entering the diffuser<br />

density. The default value is 0.038 m 2 which is typical for a 9″ diameter ceramic<br />

diffuser.<br />

Fine bubble diffuser head type (Ceramic Disc/Ceramic Dome/Membrane Disc/<br />

Membrane Tube): Used to specify the fine bubble diffuser head type when fine bubble<br />

diffused aeration has been specified and an SOTE correlation is being used.<br />
