Funds boost for CuDeco’s Rocklands
eco has also made a second payment to Chinese
State-owned Sinosteel Equipment and
Engineering Co for $US10 million which is required
under the procurement agreement between
Sinosteel and CuDeco. The agreement
is for componentry for the Rocklands 3 million
tonne/annum production facility.
The second payment is in addition to the
$US11.6 million already paid to Sinosteel and
provides the capital for the long lead items including
the ball mill being manufactured to
CITIC Group in China, the HPGR (high pressure
rolls grinder) from Polysius Corporation
from Germany and the continuous Native Copper
Process Circuit from Alljig in South Africa.
CuDeco has also recently signed compensation
agreements with a landholder and
Cloncurry Shire Council which were the final
requirements for the Department of Employment,
Economic Development and Innovation
of a wide intersection of 23 metres from surface
@ 50.1 grams/tonne gold and 101
grams/tonne silver. The hole also returned tellurium
values of up to 2190ppm, uranium of
up to 3140ppm and molybdenum.
Wilgar was initially identified as a potential uranium
prospect by CRA in 1972 but it appears
that gold was never tested for. In 2007 CuDeco

A SHARE placement by CuDeco to Hong
Kong Resource Fund will raise about
Aus$100 million for the Rocklands Group
Copper Project in northwest Queensland.
The unconditional placement will see the
Hong Kong-based group obtain a 15% interest
in CuDeco and provide funds to enable
development of the project to continue. CuD-
for the granting of the mining lease over the
Rocklands project. The granting of the lease
will trigger major events on site with immediate
commencement of the drilling and construction
of dewatering bores and monitoring bores
to be completed over a three-month period.
Ongoing drilling at the Wilgar prospect of
Rocklands has returned the highest grade
gold assay results yet achieved. One hole returned
6 metres from 7 metres @ 185
grams/tonne gold, including 1 metre from 7
metres @ 1090 grams/tonne. This was part
conducted a first-pass, wide-spaced reconnaissance
soil sampling program over the
Rocklands area, part of which traversed an area
close to Wilgar and identified anomalous base
metals. Follow-up soil sampling and limited
bedrock drilling subsequently identified a potential
area of high-grade gold mineralization.
After advancing copper exploration at
Rocklands to pre-development stage, CuDeco
shifted its focus back to regional exploration
in early 2011 and Wilgar is producing
exceptional results.
