Gav<strong>in</strong> Waugh has been President of the <strong>Safety</strong> Institute of WA<br />
s<strong>in</strong>ce 2004 and was previously Vice President and Secretary of<br />
the <strong>Safety</strong> Institute of Australia.<br />
Gav<strong>in</strong> is also a found<strong>in</strong>g Director of SIWA Limited – a new<br />
Australian corporate body for safety and health practitioners and<br />
professionals.<br />
He was first awarded for his application of safety <strong>in</strong> 1973. S<strong>in</strong>ce<br />
then he has spent many years <strong>in</strong> regulatory enforcement which<br />
has also taken him widely around WA and <strong>in</strong>terstate. This has<br />

Aaron Anderson is a specialist with Norton Rose <strong>in</strong> occupational<br />
health and safety law and <strong>in</strong>jury claims management.<br />
He has extensive experience <strong>in</strong> advis<strong>in</strong>g clients on OHS matters <strong>in</strong><br />
various <strong>in</strong>dustries <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g m<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g, construction, manufactur<strong>in</strong>g and<br />
electricity. An experienced advocate, he has successfully defended<br />
a number of prosecutions on behalf of clients as well as advis<strong>in</strong>g<br />
on a broad range of safety and <strong>in</strong>jury management matters, such as<br />
compliance and <strong>in</strong>cident response management.<br />
Aaron is also actively <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> assist<strong>in</strong>g clients to understand and<br />
develop compliance regimes at operational and corporate governance<br />
