summary by aircraft is presented in the table<br />
below.<br />
Flight requests were submitted for 14 aircraft<br />
platforms and the airborne fleet flew more<br />
than 1600 flight hours comprising over 360<br />
aircraft sorties during the year.<br />
Also, the annual <strong>Airborne</strong> <strong>Science</strong> call letter<br />
for FY09 was distributed in June of <strong>2008</strong>.<br />
Table 3 shows a histogram for the total hours<br />
flown by the program over the last decade.<br />
After the sharp decline in 2005, airborne<br />
science flight hours are now returning to their<br />
historic utilization levels.<br />
