We hereby guarantee to honour all cheques to the extent of Rs…………. outstanding at<br />

any one time on the Bank in your favour by Mr./Messrs…………. in connection with <strong>Post</strong>al<br />

transactions provided :-<br />

That cheques exceeding the total amount of the guarantee are not accepted at any<br />

one time, and<br />

That the bank would only be liable to pay uncashed cheques upto the total amount<br />

of the guarantee, and that if at any time cheques or pay orders over than amount are<br />

accepted by the post <strong>office</strong> and are not paid, the Bank would not be liable to pay<br />

any amount over the guaranteed limit.<br />

That cheques are properly drawn and endorsed and are otherwise in order.<br />

2. This guarantee will remain in force for a period of three years from the date hereof upto<br />

and including ……….. and cheques drawn on or after the said date will not be accepted by the<br />

<strong>Post</strong>al De<strong>part</strong>ment, unless and until the guarantee is extended for a further period.<br />

3. Any suit or action to enforce a claim under this guarantee in respect of a cheque shall be<br />

filed or taken within six months from the date of the cheque.<br />

Unless the suit or action is filed or taken within that time, all your rights under the<br />

guarantee in respect of the said cheque shall be deemed to have been forfeited and we shall be<br />

released and discharged from any liability there under in respect of the said cheque.<br />

95. Latest date for payment of dues. – When the last day for the payment of any postal or<br />

telegraph dues or for the receipt of sums due from the post <strong>office</strong> falls on a Sunday or post <strong>office</strong><br />

holiday, the next working day shall be taken as the last day for such transactions.
