From the dates <strong>of</strong> the Dedica<strong>to</strong>ry Epistles, it may be inferred that the<br />

eds. <strong>of</strong> the first <strong>and</strong> second parts given here are not the first. No. 94 is a<br />

summary <strong>of</strong> the three treatises j the nationality <strong>of</strong> whose author entitles<br />

them <strong>to</strong> a place in this sedlion. They were compiled partly from notes left<br />

behind by Daniel's father, who, like himself, had passed his life in the French<br />

service. The length <strong>of</strong> the titles as compared with that <strong>of</strong> the text will be<br />
