Great Fall Hikes by Andy Avram, Interpretive Manager Lake Metroparks has nearly 50 miles of trails spanning Lake County. These trails provide countless opportunities for walkers to enjoy the beautiful fall scenery. Top 5 Fall Color Hikes Chapin Forest Reservation • Lucky Stone Loop Trail to the scenic overlook at the historic Sperry Quarry With a panoramic view of everything from Lake Erie to the Cleveland skyline, the view of fall colors may be the best in Lake Metroparks. Indian Point Park • Lookout Ridge Trail This trail takes you to a spectacular view over the Grand River. The forested hillside comes alive with colorful leaves. Chapin Forest Reservation brian fowler Hell Hollow Wilderness Area • Beechridge Loop Trail Standing on top of a 200-foot cliff, a breathtaking view of hills and valleys stretches out before you. Hogback Ridge Park • Hemlock Ridge Loop Trail From the start of the loop to the finish, fall colors will surround and envelop you. Hidden Valley Park • River Breeze Trail This riverside trail has excellent views of the forested hillside and the display of colors never ends along the entire half-mile trail. Chagrin River Park • Woodland Run and Songbird Loop Trails Possibly the perfect dog-walking park, and judging by the number of dog walkers here, the public seems to agree. From access to the river to let your dog get a drink to cool off, to an ample supply of flat trails, there is hardly a reason not to take your dog here. Chagrin River Park ANGIE SIMONE Veterans Park • Cardinal Loop Trail Flat trails, a large lake to get your feet wet and a nice shady forest to walk through means your dog will love a trip to this park. Pete’s Pond Preserve • Carriage Lane Trail This nice shady trail is rapidly becoming a favorite for dog walkers. Gully Brook Park • Gully Brook Valley Trail At a little more than a mile, this shady trail is perfect to take Fido to for an after-work stroll.
