Sonos Sounder (DC) 

A general purpose electronic sounder for fire, security and 

industrial applications; the Sonos Sounder is certified to EN54. 

With the TimeSaver base, connections are made to the base 

during the initial wiring phase which results in faster and more 

reliable installation. The sounder head ‘twists and clicks’ 

into the base on commissioning, avoiding the wiring and 

connection problems associated with traditional sounders. 

With a choice of 32 tones including all the major international 

standards, the Sonos Sounder has universal acceptance. 

Deep base units have weatherproof protection to IP65 and 

can be used in all locations both indoors and outdoors.

Base Sounder 

The Base Sounder is a low profile sounder designed to comply 

with EN54. 

Its primary application is to be installed under proprietary 

smoke and heat detectors to provide both detection and 

alarm at the same point, reducing wiring and installation 

costs. With the optional cover it can also be used as a 

stand alone sounder. 

With a sound output of 95dB, 32 tones and volume control, 

it is ideal for areas with low ambient noise where it is 

desirable to fit a larger number of lower output sounders, 

such as offices and hotel bedrooms.

A choice of colours is available, including white and 

cream, to coordinate with various detectors.

Industrial Xenon Beacon 

Xenon beacons are available as either 10J or 24J units and 

are designed for surface or wall mounting. The high intensity 

beacon uses a Fresnel lens which produces a penetrating light 

in the most adverse conditions. 

Suitable for larger areas, it can be selected for single or double 

flash. A range of accessories is available: protective cage 

guard; wall bracket; soft start unit for the beacon operating on 

24V DC. 

Xenon beacons are one of the most efficient and brightest

Beacons 

Industrial Rotating Beacon 

Industrial Rotating beacons use a parabolic reflector which, 

driven by an electric motor, revolves around a continuously 

illuminated lamp on the vertical axis of the beacon creating a 

powerful beam of light travelling through 360 degrees. 

Generally, this type of beacon has a greater light output than 

other models but this is off set by the fact that the parabolic 

reflector only illuminates one given point at a time. 

The Rotating beacon incorporates both bottom and side entry 

cabling access and mounting is achieved via external three 

point fixing. 

Beacons are available with a choice of voltages and lens 

colours. Blue, Green and Clear variants available on request.

Base Sounder Beacon 

The LED Base Sounder beacon is an ideal solution for 

any type of conventional fire alarm application. 

Twelve high powered LED’s function with a 95dB sounder 

for both audio and visual warning that complies with the 

Disability Discrimination Act. The beacon has a unique 

design that can be seen from every angle including 

directly below the unit. 

It is designed to accommodate a variety of detector 

heads from major manufacturers, enabling detection and 

alarm at the same point. Consequently wiring and

Fire Alarm Interface Control unit 

(FIU 002) 

When combined with a Fire Alarm Interface Control unit 

(FIU 002) voice sounders can transmit upto 4 messages over 

the same sounder circuit with no additional wiring. The fire alarm 

voice sounders are actuated by the FIU 002 which acts as a 

communication medium between the panel and sounders. 

The FIU 002 controller unit monitors the change in status of the 

sounder circuits of the fire alarm control panel and relays the 

appropriate signal to the sounders. The FIU 002 unit is wired 

directly to the fire alarm control panel by three two core cables. 

Two cores are required for each of the fire alarm sounder circuits 

and a further two cores for the auxiliary power supply. The FIU 

002 unit has two status indication LED’s mounted on its front 

face. The first being the ‘System Health’ indicator which is green 

in colour and a ‘fault indicator’ which is amber in colour.

Gas Extinguishing Interface 

Control unit (GIU 002) 

Existing Gas extinguishing systems rely on a combination of 

audible alarm tones and visual signals to signify the four 

stages of alarm, which can often cause confusion amongst 

untrained personnel. When combined with a GIU 002 unit 

voice enhanced sounders are able to avoid this problem 

and transmit 4 clear messages for each stage of alarm.

Syrex Exd-3 Sounder 

The Syrex Exd-3 is an electronic sounder designed for 

potentially explosive atmospheres and harsh environmental 

conditions. Certified to ATEX II 2G EExd IIC T4, it is suitable for 

use in Zone 1 and 2 areas. 

With a high degree of ingress protection (IP67) and a 

choice of tones including those covering PFEER/UKOOA

Signal Horn 100 & Xenon Beacon 

The range of Signal Horns has been designed to produce the 

alert signal of the traditional electro-mechanical equivalent. In 

addition to the ‘buzzer’ type sound the unit features a further 

two alarm sounds. 

The Signal Horn 100 & LED Beacon incorporates a 1J Xenon 

strobe beacon and is available in five colours and operating 

voltages from 10V DC to 230V AC for a variety of applications.

Klaxalarm Terrier 

The Klaxalarm Terrier is a stand alone, self-contained fire 

alarm designed for use in small retail, industrial or temporary 

buildings as well as construction sites, camp sites or marquees. 

In addition it can be used as a temporary alarm when the 

main fire alarm system is under maintenance. 

Several units can be interlinked to provide additional coverage 

so that when one call point is activated, all of the other units 

sound. When fitted with LR14 batteries, these units will operate 

in standby mode for over 12 months. An audible warning is 

emitted when the battery power level becomes low.

Voltage Boosting Base 

The Voltage Boosting base forms part of the Sonos range 

of sounders, beacons and combined sounder beacons. 

When used with a Voltage Boosting base the Sonos 

beacons and combined sounder beacons can operate 

on a supply as low as 9V. This in effect increases the 

operating voltage range from 17-60V DC to 9-60V DC for 

a wider range of applications. 

The bases are available in either red or white, and IP65 

rated for weatherproof warning.
