Spatial Skills Test (TPS 2) - experimental version
Subtest 1 - Mutual Positon: The tested person draws a mental line and an
geometrical area from two or three points. The skeleton of this spatial
situation is a cube, a tetrahedron or an octahedron. The task of the tested
person is to fix their mutual position by choosing the one option which
illustrates a different relationship than the other three options. Maximum
number of points is 10.
Subtest 2 - A Snake in a Cube:The tested person draws an axonometry of a
snake twisting in a cube from the three given orthogonal illustrations.
Maximum number of points is 10.
Subtest 3 - Two Parts of a Cube: The task includes choosing one of four
cubes with a missing sector which forms a perfect cube with a given sector.
Maximum number of points is 10.
2.3 Procedure
The measurements were carried out in the academic year 2004/2005 in
groups during seminars with an informed consent of the participants.
The requirement of a standard uniform approach was fulfilled in
assigning tasks, registering results, evaluation and interpretation of results.
The results were processed by methods of descriptive and inductive
statistics, statistical software Statgraphics was used.
