the other hand, females show better results in tasks like recalling the<br />

distribution of objects in space. On the basis of the above we have expected<br />

different performances of males and females in tests of spatial imagination<br />

[3,4,5,6].<br />

2 Method<br />

2.1 Set of data<br />

Stratification of the analysed sample was based on data of students accepted<br />

at Slovak universities (apart from technical study branches), faculties of<br />

natural sciences and pedagogical faculties (apart from social sciences). The<br />

data was acquired from 901 students of secondary schools and universities<br />

in the Czech and Slovak Republics. The average age of males was 19.71,<br />

the average age of females 20.02.<br />

2.2 Tools<br />

Analysis of Intelligence Structures, Subtest Cube Recognition (ISA-RK)<br />

The tested person must decide whether any of the seven three-dimensional<br />

cubes is identical with the given cube. The seven cubes are illustrated in<br />

differenct perspectives (or points of view) from the first one and therefore<br />

the tested persons must rotate them in their imagination, or at least they<br />

must rotate around them. Maximum number of points (gross score - GS) in<br />

the short version of the test we have used is 12.<br />

Orientational Test of Cognitive Skills, Subtest Cube Selection (OTRS-<br />

VK)<br />

The tested person must determine the number of cubes (in a limited space)<br />

which have an opening and are not damaged. This number must be written<br />

down. The cubes with an opening are marked by a cross in the front and this<br />

symbol applies to all the cubes in a row. The damaged cubes are marked by<br />
