aimed at students from Years 9 – 11<br />

and are available to any young person<br />

Applications Clinics are<br />

available to assist your students with<br />

their applications to college. These<br />

sessions may be arranged on a one-toone<br />

or group basis at your request, in<br />

school or on our campus.

Leaders of the Future<br />

Join forces with a team to create a business manufacturing<br />

clackers to strict quality control standards. Use your negotiating<br />

skills to sell the most desirable clackers to dealers. The team<br />

who turns the most profit wins!<br />

Criminal Justice<br />

Join our Psychology, Sociology and Law teams to track a<br />

Defendant through the Criminal Justice system, beginning with<br />

the commission of an offence all the way through to the<br />

outcome of the case. You will investigate the factors<br />

surrounding both the defendant and the offence that may<br />

influence the outcome of the case.<br />

Spend the day with our Media and Film Studies team to explore<br />

different aspects of the industry in a series of practical sessions.<br />

Take 1 – create a VINE exploring your favourite film genre.<br />

Take 2 – Play the critic and write a review of your favourite film.<br />

Take 3 – Plan, shoot and edit your own short film.<br />

Love Languages<br />

Our award-winning Love Languages programme aims to inspire<br />

young people to study languages and enhance opportunities to<br />

progress to college, university and employment within the<br />

context of language learning. The programme offers bespoke<br />

sessions which are planned and delivered by our A-level French<br />

and Spanish students. These include workshops to develop<br />

pupils’ speaking, reading and writing skills as well as paired<br />

sessions to prepare for GCSE oral examinations.<br />

We can offer lively, engaging and challenging bespoke<br />

workshops in any aspect of English from poetry to spoken<br />

Develop programming skills and knowledge in this introduction<br />

to programming with python which focuses on making and<br />

running a number of programmes to create text-based games.<br />

Chemistry in Action<br />

Want to experience Chemistry in action Find out more about<br />

Forensics Our bespoke one-hour practical sessions cover GCSE<br />

topics, A-level Chemistry and careers in science and medicine.<br />

We can come to your school or you can spend a whole morning<br />

or afternoon in college using forensic science to solve a murder<br />

mystery.<br />

History: ‘How do we learn about the past’<br />

History is the study of the past that 
<br />

enables us to understand the present.<br />

To be a successful historian you have to have an enquiring and<br />

critical mind. You must be able to question evidence to<br />

understand events and give judgements by supporting your<br />

opinion with evidence. In this one-hour workshop, students will<br />

use historical sources to make judgements related to the D-Day<br />

landings of June 1944.<br />

of Religious Ethics and create your own thought experiments. Be<br />
