OHIO STATE DENTAL BOARD BOARD MEETING MINUTES MARCH 18, 2007 PAGE 26 Dr. McDonald took a moment to thank the Board President, Dr. Vesoulis, for remaining on as President for an additional year. DENTISTS AS FIRST RESPONDERS Dr. Wright reported to the Board that he had presented before the State Medical Board of Ohio’s (Medical Board) equivalent of the Dental Board’s Scope of Practice Committee regarding the proposal to implement a legislative change allowing dentists to be utilized as first responders in mass disaster situations. He stated the Medical Board committee’s response was completely supportive of the initiative so long as the dentists were properly trained, had limited scope, and the duties were performed upon request in the event of a mass disaster emergency. He concluded by stating that the next step would be to draft language regarding a certification process and work closely with the Medical Board in this process. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE STATEMENTS Ms. Hockenberry briefly reminded the Board members that she still did not have three (3) of the Board members Financial Disclosure Statements the paperwork was now due. She reminded the members that the Board must have them all filed by April 15, 2007. ADJOURN Dr. Vesoulis adjourned the meeting at 3:32 p.m. The next meeting will be on April 18, 2007.
