Dear Parents and Guardians,
We have the best news to share with you. Our Cubs Choir, under the leadership of Mrs.
Ellen Benfield, has been selected out of 156 Wake County Schools to present their talents
in Pieces of Gold. This is a high accomplishment for them to achieve due to the fact that
the competition is keen and only 35 schools can be chosen. We are so proud of our students
as well as Mrs. Benfield. Please stay tuned to see when you can purchase your tickets to
view their performance at Raleigh Memorial Theater. We will keep you informed.
Another important date you may want to include in your agenda is January 12 th . From 6:30
– 7:30pm in the high school gym, all of the schools that will feed into Leesville High
School will hold a display. The elementary schools are Brier Creek, Sycamore Creek,
Jeffrey’s Grove and Hilburn. The middle schools are Leesville Middle and Hilburn Middle.
It is the week of January 17 th that you are to choose the school you want your children to
attend next year. We hope after you view all the educational opportunities and after school
clubs we offer, you will want to remain with us. We feel we are dedicated to your
children’s education and provide a very safe and caring learning environment while
meeting the needs of your children.
Calling ALL 5th grade parents!! If you are interested in learning more about your child's
Middle School Options, please join us Thursday, January 5th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Our
counselors, Mrs. McLean and Mrs. Weidenfeller, will be sponsoring a parent workshop to
offer information about transitioning your child to Middle School. The presenters are Mr.
Sheldon Lanier, Assistant Principal of LRMS and a representative from the new upcoming
Wake Girls Leadership Academy. Please come and join us and bring any questions you
might have for our speakers. We hope to see you here.
We need help! Our atrium is overgrown with weeds and needs to be trimmed. Is there
anybody who would like to help us get this area back into shape If so, please call me at
870-4184.

Team Up for Technology
Once again we would like to thank everyone for the ongoing support of this fundraiser.
Our AMAZING students walked a total of 1,438,136 steps! WOW! In addition, with the
support of the parents, families and community we have been able to raise just
over $9000.00 in donations that will be used to enhance the technology at LES!
If you have not had a chance to donate, it is not too late! We are still accepting donations
both by mail and on the web via paypal! Also, please don't forget to check with your
employer to see if your company sponsors a matching gift program. Thank you, again, for
your incredible support of this fundraiser!

Leesville Road Middle School Open House
Leesville road Middle School will be hosting and Open house on Tuesday, Dec 13th. The
open house will be from 8:30 – 9:30am. They will also hold a second Open House on
Tuesday, Dec 20th from 8:30 – 9:30am.
The Leesville Road High School Band Pepsi Refresh Challenge
