Services to older people, people with a disability and carers who live in the<br />

Marrickville Local Government Area. These include food service programs<br />

(including meals on wheels, centre based meals, multi-cultural meals,<br />

home visits and escorts; social groups including Tom Foster Senior, Chinese<br />

Seniors and Sydenham, Tempe and St Peters Seniors, and activity programs.<br />

Services for: all groups in the community, with a focus on art, culture,<br />

employment training initiatives and community events. Programs include:<br />

Music programs, Arts programs, Employment programs (including Lights,<br />

Camera, Action ), Exercise classes, Dance rehearsals, Playgroups, After<br />

school care, Vacation care, Youth program, and <strong>Community</strong> events, such as<br />

Harmony Day, Family Culture Day, NAIDOC, Reconciliation Day and<br />

<strong>Community</strong> barbecues. The centre also has Meeting room hire, Exhibition<br />

space hire, Performance space hire and Sound recording studio hire. The<br />

A venue for sports, recreation, learning, and arts and crafts, that caters to the<br />

needs of seniors, people with disabilities, children and Chinese speaking<br />

people of the community. Services include: sports competitions, table tennis,<br />

indoor and outdoor court hire, sports equipment hire, martial arts classes,<br />

yoga, Tai-chi, art classes, aged and disability services, and seniors activities.<br />

Services for children include: playgroup, after school care, and vacation<br />

care. A social worker is available for counselling and the centre offers hall<br />

and room hire.<br />

Description:<br />

They provide information, referral and advice, run education programs, offer<br />

activities and classes for children, young people and families. These include:<br />

men’s groups, mums space, vacation care and after school care, tutoring and<br />

homework centre, and Aboriginal health program. They also provide a drop<br />

in centre for youth aged 13-24, and advocacy, referral and counselling for<br />

homeless or at risk youth.<br />
