the deadline is March 2 nd .

Oakmont’s Career Center in January

2012 Summer Camps & Programs –
There are several camps and summer
programs being offered for all students. Visit the
College & Career Center – room 503 to see all that
is being offered.
Programs and camps include:
Aerospace four-day summer camp - by
the Aerospace Museum of California. Students
learn about flight, visit the Coast Guard, and take a
short flight. Go to www.aerospaceca.org .
UC Berkeley College Prep Camp to be held
June 12th- 16th in Pinecrest, CA. This is an exciting
and affordable college search and application
workshop for rising high school Juniors and
Seniors –

FIDM's "3 Days of Fashion" – FIDM's "3
Days of Fashion" is a hands-on workshop. You will
mix and mingle with industry professionals and
explore exciting careers like Fashion Stylist, Event
Planner, Buyer and Fashion Designer to name a
few. There are 4 California campuses to choose
from: San Francisco, Orange County, LA and San

for specific campus dates, program cost and
registration information.

Summer Work Permits
Work permits can be obtained at Oakmont’s Career
Center through May 31 st . During the summer,
through Aug. 1st , work permits can be obtained at the
summer school office - Independence High School, 125
Berry Street, Roseville,CA 95678 - (916-786-0793).
Hours are Monday – Friday:
7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
REMINDER: You can download a request for a work
permit from Oakmont’s website. Go to guidance then
click on College & Career Center.
Students & Parents:
It has been a pleasure to work with you for the last 12
years at Oakmont and I will miss you in my retirement. I
am happy to welcome Julie Leedy who will be the new
College & Career Tech and will be happy to help you.
