2012 saw Knorr-Bremse display entrepreneurial foresight by systematically
expanding its global presence and market leadership, especially
in the growth markets of the BRIC states and in North America.
In Russia, for example, the company linked up with Russian railway
operator RZD to establish a joint venture; in India the Group expanded
its production capacity in both the rail and commercial vehicle
sectors, building new facilities that meet the very highest standards
of modern logistics and environmental protection. In order to keep
one step ahead of its competitors, the company also strengthened
its research and development activities during the year in question.
In India, a modern development center was opened next to the new
production hall in Pune.
