parcel of the <strong>Knorr</strong>-<strong>Bremse</strong> ethos and laid down in the Code of Conduct. In order to encourage respect<br />

for one another within the company, <strong>Knorr</strong>-<strong>Bremse</strong> encourages members of its workforce to<br />

spend periods living and working abroad. It also offers intercultural training and ensures that local<br />

management is appointed at site level. One example of this attitude of operating as a responsible<br />

partner within a region and contributing to local value creation was the development of the <strong>Knorr</strong>-<br />

<strong>Bremse</strong> Technology Center in Pune, India. Since <strong>2012</strong> this has housed development engineers working<br />

for various <strong>Knorr</strong>-<strong>Bremse</strong> subsidiaries. By 2015 some 200 places will have been made available<br />

here for highly qualified workers.<br />

<strong>Knorr</strong>-<strong>Bremse</strong> also attaches great importance to health and safety at work. In addition to systematic<br />

work safety management, the Group also carried out various different campaigns such as health days,<br />

health advice and special medical checks at its various sites.<br />

<strong>Knorr</strong>-<strong>Bremse</strong> creates attractive prospects for the future<br />

Like any successful business, <strong>Knorr</strong>-<strong>Bremse</strong> needs high-skilled specialist workers. The company organizes<br />

its own in-house training provisions that offer attractive career opportunities to young people.<br />

In Germany, the company works with a vocational academy to offer practical, vocationally-oriented<br />

study courses. Graduate recruits to the company can also join the international Management Evolution<br />

Program (MEP) that offers insights into the work of the Group. <strong>Knorr</strong>-<strong>Bremse</strong> also works with<br />

universities and “dual system” colleges to ensure early contact with students offering key qualifications<br />

and to raise the company’s profile as an attractive employer. It also actively participates in personnel<br />

and recruitment fairs for the same purpose.
