There are only two complete commentaries written on Al- Qanun in Arabic language and India<br />

has <strong>the</strong> honour that one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se was written in this country by Hakim Ali Gilani under <strong>the</strong><br />

patronage <strong>of</strong> Mughal Emperor Akbar. Un<strong>for</strong>tunately only its first volume has been printed and<br />

<strong>the</strong> remaining ones are extant in manuscript <strong>for</strong>m in various libraries <strong>of</strong> this country.<br />
