Enerjisiz büyümek imkansız
Growth is impossible without energy
Türkiye’de son yıllarda çok büyük değişimlerin yaşandığına ve her geçen gün önem kazanmaya devam
ettiğine değinen Siemens Genel Müdürü Hüseyin Gelis, günümüzde herkesin enerji hakkında konuştuğuna,
enerjisiz büyümenin imkansız olduğuna dikkat çekti.
Siemens General Manager Hüseyin Gelis pointed out that major changes have been taking place in Turkey in
recent years with energy becoming more and more important and that people have been talking about energy
as growth would be impossible without energy.

012 yılı Türkiye için olumlu bir yıldı. Ancak Türkiye de
global dünyanın bir parçası. Yani komşularımızda,
Avrupa’da problemler varsa bu durum bize de yansıyacaktır.
Bu nedenle 2013 için hazırlıklı olmamız gerektiğini
düşünüyorum. Siemens proaktif davranan bir şirket. Biz her zaman
uzun vadeli planlar yaparız, riskleri zamanında analiz eder
ona göre hareket ederiz. Türkiye’de kısa vadeli potansiyele değil
orta ve uzun vadeli potansiyele bakarak yatırım yapıyoruz. Önümüzdeki
dönemde global pazardaki gelişmelerden dolayı krizin
etkilerini yaşayacağımızı düşünüyorum, ancak Türkiye krizler konusunda
son derece tecrübeli ve global bir krizi iyi yöneteceğimize
inancım tam.” diyen Gelis, Türkiye’de son yıllarda değişim
kavramının önem kazandığını, 15 yıl evvel en büyük sektörün
telekomünikasyon ve BT olduğunu, bugün ise herkesin enerji
hakkında konuştuğunu, enerjisiz büyümenin imkansız olduğunu
belirtti.
Gerek endüstriyel gelişmelerin gerekse faaliyet gösterdikleri
sağlık ve enerji sektörlerindeki gelişmelerin büyük çoğunluğunun
geçmişte bilgi birikiminin ve paylaşımının kısıtlı olması
sebebiyle yavaş olduğuna dikkat çeken Gelis, içinde bulunduğumuz
2000’li yılların başından itibaren, teknolojinin de katkısıyla
her sektördeki hemen her türlü yeniliğin fikirden somut
hale gelme sürelerinin kısaldığını söyledi. Endüstri tarafında
süreçleri hızlandıran, verimlilik odaklı projeler yürütüldüğünü
dile getiren Gelis konuşmasına şöyle devam etti: “Siemens

012 was a positive year for Turkey. But Turkey is a part
of the globalized world. And that means we will surely
have the fallouts of the crisis in our neighbors or in
Europe. So, I believe we should get prepared for 2013. Siemens
is a proactive company. We always have our long term plans,
and we analyze the risks on time and act accordingly. We are
investing in Turkey by considering the potential of the country
in the medium and long term, not in the short term. I believe we
will experience the effects of the crisis due to the developments
in the global markets in the next period, but Turkey is highly
experienced in crisis management and I am fully confident that it
will manage a global crisis fairly well,” Gelis said. He added that
the concept of change has gained a lot of importance in Turkey,
and while telecommunication and IT industries were the leading
industries in Turkey 15 years ago, today, energy has become
number one subject in all people’s talks as growth is impossible
without energy.
Gelis underlined that both industrial developments and
developments in the health and energy sectors in which they were
engaged were very slow in the past due to the limited nature of the
accumulation and sharing of information and knowledge, while
the time needed for almost all types of innovation in all sectors
to become actualized from being an idea, also thanks to the help

devlet tarafından gerçekleştiriliyor ve
yerel yönetimler tarafından baktığımızda,
büyük ölçekli altyapı projelerinin
bu kurumların kaynaklarıyla gerçekleştirilebilmesi
her zaman mümkün olmayabiliyor.”

Siemens olarak 1850’lerden beri Türkiye’de olduklarını, şirket
için en önemli konunun inovasyon olduğunu, çalışanlarına,
onların gelişimlerine ve tedarikçilerine yatırım yaptıklarına değinen
Gelis, “Biz, fabrikalara destek veren tedarikçileri daha
fazla geliştirmek istiyoruz. Tedarikçilerimizi sırf bizim Türkiye’de
ürettiğimiz ürünler için değerlendirmek değil, global pazara açılmaları
için desteklemek, onların kapasitelerini geliştirmek için
çalışıyoruz. Bunun yanında Siemens’in global bir tedarik projesi
bulunuyor. Bu proje kapsamında seçilen ülkelerden direkt olarak
satınalma gerçekleştiriliyor ve bu ülkelerden birisi de Türkiye.”
şeklinde konuşmasını sürdürdü.
Gelis, sektördeki büyümeyi tetikleyecek unsurlar konusunda
şunları söyledi: “Hükümetin yatırım stratejilerinin başarılı olduğunu
düşünüyorum. Bu stratejiler sektördeki büyümeyi de
tetikleyecek. Türkiye için hem ülke içinde hem de diğer ülkeler
ile ilişkilerin iyi olması son derece önemli. Bu stratejilerin sonuçları
da tüm sektörleri etkileyecek. Kolay adımlar değil tabii
ancak daha parlak bir gelecek için de mutlaka bu şekilde devam
etmemiz gerek.”

“As you know, Siemens is an engineering
company. We are interested in products
and projects. We see infrastructure
projects as significant projects in medium
and long term. On the other hand,
financing is also a very important factor.
We need to offer more creative and flexible
financing solutions. A great majority of the
infrastructural projects are being realized
by the government and, from the viewpoint
of the local administrations, it may not
always be possible to conduct large-scale infrastructure projects
by using the resources of these organizations.”
Gelis pointed out that Siemens has been in Turkey since 1850s
and innovation has always been the foremost issue for their
company, and that they invested in their employees as well as
their suppliers and their development in general. “We want to
further improve our suppliers that support our factories. We
are making efforts not only for using our suppliers fully for our
products in Turkey, but also for supporting their opening out to
global markets and for increasing their capacity. Aside from that,
Siemens has a global procurement policy. Under this project,
direct procurement is made from the selected countries and
Turkey is one of these countries.”
On factors that may trigger the growth in the industry, Gelis said:
“I believe the government’s investment strategies are successful.
These strategies will trigger the growth in the industry in return.
It is also very important for Turkey to be in good terms both
domestically and with other countries. And the results of these
strategies will affect all industries. Of course these are not easy
steps but we have to carry on like this for a bright future.”
