Türkiye pazarının canlı ve dinamik
olması sektörün yükselişini tetikliyor
Dynamism of the Turkish market
triggers the industry’s rise
Türkiye’nin büyük bir potansiyele sahip olduğuna, hızla gelişmeye ve büyümeye devam ettiğine dikkat
çeken Nokia Türkiye Genel Müdürü Çiçek Uyansoy İcan: “Sektörün yükselişinde ülke ekonomisi önemli yer
tutuyor.
Nokia Turkey General Manager Çiçek Uyansoy İcan pointed out that Turkey had a great potential and
continued to develop and grow at a fast pace, adding that: “The country’s economy has a significant share in
the industry’s rise. Markets are very buoyant in Turkey, offering very big opportunities. This triggers the rise
in our industry.”
B
içek Uyansoy İcan said their target this year was to make
more people own smart phones at affordable prices.
“Today, there are still more than 3 billion people in the
world without a mobile phone. And 1.5 billion of the 3.7 billion
mobile phone owners do not use their phones to access the
internet. And 1.2 billion people’s mobile phones have only SMS
feature. We want to eliminate the obstructions on people’s access
to information. We want people to have the internet experience at
least with their mobile phone if they do not have computer at their
home. We will continue our investments and maintain our global
vision “to connect 1 billion people to internet,” İcan said.
After entering the Turkish market in 2000, Nokia embraced
market leadership in a very short time and it has ever since
enjoyed high brand recognition and preference rates in Turkish
market, she said, pointing out that Nokia has been “Turkey’s Best
Loved Brand” for the last five years according to the “Lovemark”
research conducted by IPSOS. İcan said she considers the
democratization of the smart phones and the expansion of
the mobile services as the major current developments in the
Türkiye’ye 2000 yılında giren Nokia’nın, kısa sürede pazarın lideri
konumuna ulaştığını, tüketici açısından marka bilinirliği ve
tercih edilme oranlarının yüksek olduğunu aktaran Çiçek Uyansoy
İcan, Nokia’nın 5 senedir IPSOS tarafından gerçekleştirilen
“Lovemark” araştırmasında “Türkiye’nin En Sevilen Markası” seçildiğini
belirtti.
industry, adding that the growth on the side of smart phones and
applications continued in 2012. “40 percent of the handsets sold
in 2012 are smart phones. We see that the industry is increasingly
gaining a more application-oriented structure. Last quarter of
2012 will offer a very rich experience for our users thanks to the
new technologies, handsets and experiences to be launched in
the quarter” she said.
In her remarks on the democratization target of the smart phones
to be introduced in 2012, İcan spoke as follows: “In conformance
with our new smart phone strategy, we are focusing on creating a
different and innovative smart phone portfolio in Windows Phone
platform. In 2012, we are planning to launch Nokia Lumia 920
and 820 to our users in Turkey
too. Additionally, we want to
ensure that a greater number
of people can reach our Nokia
808 PureView, which is the
first example of our PureView
technology that allows printing
of your pictures at a size as
large as a billboard picture and
which has been put on sale in
July this year.”
İcan said Turkey is a very
important market for Nokia as
the second largest market in the
Eurasia region by far. “Strong
relations with the business
partners are generally based on openness, transparency and
respect for one another’s agenda in our country which provides
many opportunities for our industry. There is a highly energetic
and entrepreneurial business platform. Turkey is a market of a
large population. Our industry is a very dynamic and constantly
prospering industry. Although it may bear similar characteristics
with Asian markets from various angles, Turkey has always been
among the countries with best performances. Turkish mobile
phone market has a significant potential, and it continues to
develop and grow at a high pace. The country’s economy has a
significant share in the industry’s rise. Markets are very buoyant
in Turkey, offering very big opportunities. This triggers the rise
in our industry.”
