R&D Capabilities TCF’s state-of-the-art testing facility is maintained as an Air Moving & Control Association (AMCA) Accredited Laboratory for air performance testing (per AMCA Standard 210), induced airflow performance testing (per AMCA Standard 260), inlet and outlet sound testing (per AMCA Standard 300), and is a member of the Underwriters Laboratories’ (UL) Client Test Data Program (CTDP). We conduct numerous tests for quality assurance, acoustics, airflow, reliability, vibration, product certification and product safety. All UL test standards that the TCF laboratory is listed for are witnessed annually by UL auditors. Our custom-designed data acquisition systems display results in real time. This eliminates human error and bias while allowing for rapid and accurate testing. As required by AMCA’s Laboratory Accreditation Program, TCF’s results are periodically compared with tests of the same fan’s performance in the AMCA laboratory to verify the accuracy of the results. In addition, we are one of the few sound labs in the country qualified for both broadband sound and pure tones. TCF is continuously upgrading its testing capabilities and equipment. Recent enhancements include a new jet fan testing chamber. The new high-pressure chamber utilizes a state-of-the-art National Instruments data acquisition system and a PXI 1010 PC Chassis that ties in all of the transducers and data acquisition cards. This new system meets and/or exceeds all AMCA/ASHRAE/ ANSI requirements.
