Twin City Fan Companies, Ltd. (TCF) is comprised of
a diverse group of fan companies that manufacture a
full spectrum of air moving equipment. Our product
portfolio includes the highest quality centrifugal, axial,
and propeller fans in addition to a full line of power roof
ventilators, air make-up units, door heaters and related
equipment. The list of applications that utilize our products
is practically endless and ranges from heavy industrial
material handling to HVAC supply and exhaust fans for
the commercial market.

to accommodate virtually every conceivable application,
TCF has the knowledge and expertise to meet your

Our world headquarters is located in Minneapolis,
Minnesota, and is home to all corporate, sales, engineering,
accounting, marketing, and administrative functions. We
have approximately 1,000 employees in the US with
additional sales offices and manufacturing facilities located
worldwide. Our fans are sold throughout North, Central
and South America, Europe, China, the Middle East,
Africa, Asia and the entire Pacific Rim.
By strategically solidifying global business partnerships
and manufacturing alliances in China (TCF Shanghai),
India (TCF NADI), the Pacific Rim (Azen Manufacturing),
and Czech Republic (Clarage Turbo Technology &
TCF Vzduchotechnika), we have extended our capability
to deliver the same quality products available in the US to
the worldwide market.

Company History
1973
Ben Barry establishes Twin City
Fan Company. Before starting
Twin City Fan, Mr. Barry was the
founder of Barry Blower Co.
1976
Due to rapid growth, TCF
opens a new manufacturing
facility in Minneapolis, MN, to
keep up with demand.
Twin City Fan Companies, Ltd.
1988
TCF introduces an axial fan
product line and opens a new
facility in Mitchell, SD, to
accommodate manufacturing.
1993
TCF acquires Aerovent, a
premier industrial axial fan company
established in 1926. TCF opens a new
manufacturing facility in
Aberdeen, SD.
2002
TCF acquires Holland Industries, an
aluminum foundry in Davenport,
Iowa, and begins manufacturing
their own hubs and propellers.
TC Holland is formed.
NADI
2004
TCF enters into a 50%
partnership with NADI Air
Technics in India, expanding
their global footprint.
TCF Nadi is formed.

1977
TCF invests in building their first
internal test lab for certifying
fan performance at the
Minneapolis headquarters.
1979
TCF enters the nuclear fan market
and begins customizing their
product line for nuclear
applications.
1984
TCF relocates manufacturing to a
larger facility in Brookings, SD,
to meet the increased demand
for their products.
1996
TCF enters the power roof
ventilator market and opens a
new manufacturing facility
in Elkton, SD.
1997
TCF acquires Clarage, one of
the oldest fan manufacturers,
established in 1874. TCF enters
the heavy duty process and
petrochemical markets.
1998
TCF obtains 50% of the stock from
Azen Manufacturing located in
Singapore, strategically
gaining a stronger foothold
within the Pacific rim.
TURBO TECHNOLOGY
2006
TCF establishes a new branch in
Shanghai, China. TCF Shanghai is
formed to bring TCF’s unmatched
product line to the Chinese
and export markets.
2009
TCF acquires a 70% share of
Vzduchotechnika Ltd., an industrial
manufacturer of centrifugal and axial fans
located in Prachatice, Czech Republic.
TCF Vzduchotechnika is formed.
2010
TCF establishes Clarage Turbo
Technology in Milevsko, Czech
Republic, to provide tunnel ventilation,
power and heavy industrial fans
to the European market.

R&D Capabilities
TCF’s state-of-the-art testing facility is maintained as an
Air Moving & Control Association (AMCA) Accredited
Laboratory for air performance testing (per AMCA
Standard 210), induced airflow performance testing (per
AMCA Standard 260), inlet and outlet sound testing
(per AMCA Standard 300), and is a member of the
Underwriters Laboratories’ (UL) Client Test Data Program
(CTDP). We conduct numerous tests for quality assurance,
acoustics, airflow, reliability, vibration, product certification
and product safety. All UL test standards that the TCF
laboratory is listed for are witnessed annually by UL
auditors.
Our custom-designed data acquisition systems display
results in real time. This eliminates human error and
bias while allowing for rapid and accurate testing. As
required by AMCA’s Laboratory Accreditation Program,
TCF’s results are periodically compared with tests of
the same fan’s performance in the AMCA laboratory to
verify the accuracy of the results. In addition, we are one
of the few sound labs in the country qualified for both
broadband sound and pure tones.
TCF is continuously upgrading its testing capabilities
and equipment. Recent enhancements include a new
jet fan testing chamber. The new high-pressure chamber
utilizes a state-of-the-art National Instruments data
acquisition system and a PXI 1010 PC Chassis that ties
in all of the transducers and data acquisition cards. This
new system meets and/or exceeds all AMCA/ASHRAE/
ANSI requirements.
