We are looking for teaching staff for all areas, but<br />
especially for the following programs …<br />
FINE ARTS<br />
We are looking for Music and other Fine Arts<br />
teachers. NCSD’s Fine Arts Program features Music,<br />
Visual Art and Drama K-12, and includes a visiting<br />
artists’ program, special projects (e.g. mural design), a<br />
district student art procurement program, a traditional<br />
music initiative and drama and music festivals. <strong>School</strong>s<br />
are well-equipped with music and art equipment<br />
and funding is also provided for students to travel to<br />
exhibits and performances.<br />
FRENCH<br />
Parlez-vous français NCSD requires more<br />
French teachers for schools throughout <strong>Central</strong><br />
Newfoundland. We have a great French program<br />
with Core French offered throughout the district,<br />
French Immersion at select schools and continued<br />
growth in Intensive Core French (ICF), including annual<br />
student camps. There is also a strong professional<br />
development program for French teachers. Our<br />
district participates in a wide range of federally<br />
and provincially funded projects for French Second<br />
Language education.<br />
STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES<br />
(PROGRAMS DIVISION)<br />
NCSD regularly recruits specialists for<br />
the Student Support Services Sub-Division. Such<br />
specialists provide programming and enhanced<br />
supports to students as needed. In addition to the<br />
recruitment of specialists, NCSD continuously recruits<br />
special education teachers.<br />

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT<br />

There are program specialists for curriculum in<br />
French, Mathematics, Fine Arts, English Language Arts,<br />
Science, Student Support Services, etc.<br />
There are also program specialists who support<br />
primary-elementary, intermediate and high schools.<br />
Program specialists work closely with teachers,<br />
especially new teachers, to assist them with curriculum<br />
delivery.<br />
