Strategy<br />

• Provide and maintain adequate fire control access<br />

disturbance to natural vegetation<br />

• Exclude fuel reduction burning except in special circumstances (eg flora<br />

management)<br />

• Prepare a specific plan for the use <strong>of</strong> fire for flora management<br />

• Maintain a record <strong>of</strong> fire history<br />

Strategy<br />

• Protect and maintain dunal vegetation<br />

• Adapt beach access construction to accommodate storm erosion where possible<br />

• Close access and repair damage as necessary after storm events<br />

Strategy<br />

• Leave seaweed to normal tidal movements where ever possible<br />

• Relocate seaweed away from high use beaches as follows:<br />

- Removed only from main use or patrolled areas <strong>of</strong> <strong>Jetty</strong> Beach and southern<br />

section Park Beach<br />

- move seaweed from beach to base <strong>of</strong> dunal system<br />

- in exceptional circumstances, where seaweed quantities are too large to dispose<br />

on site, stockpile seaweed for removal by contractor licenced by <strong>NSW</strong> Fisheries<br />

- Notify Marine Park Authority (for areas within Marine Park) and <strong>NSW</strong> Fisheries<br />

(for other areas) 24 hours prior, or as soon as practicable, to moving seaweed<br />

from intertidal areas.<br />

• All works in intertidal zone carried out under letter <strong>of</strong> authority from <strong>NSW</strong><br />

Fisheries.<br />

Heritage<br />

heritage sites<br />

Strategy<br />

• Protect significant sites when developing walking tracks and other facilities,<br />

• Ensure access to significant sites for Aboriginal use<br />

educational material)<br />

• Implement strategies through ongoing consultation with Aboriginal groups and<br />

Council’s Aboriginal Consultative Committee and the National Parks and Wildlife<br />

Service<br />

• Contribute to management <strong>of</strong> fergusons Cottage and implementation <strong>of</strong> any<br />

adopted heritage maintenance strategy for the site.<br />
