Ratings Guide
NRA Standard Firearm Ratings
Eurooptic.com adheres to the industry accepted standard of the NRA Standard Firearms
Ratings that have been in place for a number of years. We pride ourselves in only handling
“gently used” items that meet our high standards. While we normally do not handle used
firearms, we sometimes will have opportunities to take them in trade from our customers.
To give you guidance the NRA grading standards are listed below. Please call 570-220-3159

FACTORY NEW
All original parts, 100% original finish, in perfect condition in every respect, inside and out. Not
previously sold at retail, in same condition as current factory production
EXCELLENT
All original parts; over 80% original finish; sharp lettering, numerals, and design on metal and wood;
unmarred wood; fine bore.
FINE
All original parts; over 30% original finish; sharp lettering, numerals, and design on metal and wood;
minor marks in wood; good bore.
VERY GOOD
All original parts; none to 30% original finish; original metal surfaces smooth with all edges sharp;
clear lettering, numerals and design on metal; wood slightly scratched or bruised; bore disregarded
for collectors firearms.
GOOD
Some minor replacement parts; metal smoothly rusted or lightly pitted in places, cleaned or reblued;
principal lettering, numerals, and design on metal legible; wood refinished, scratched, bruised, or
minor cracks repaired; in good working order.
FAIR
Some major parts replaced; minor replacement parts may be required; metal rusted, may be lightly
pitted all over, vigorously cleaned or reblued; rounded edges on metal and wood; principal lettering,
numerals, and design on metal partly obliterated; wood scratched, bruised, cracked, or repaired where
broken; in fair working order or can be easily repaired and placed in working order.
POOR
Major and minor parts replaced; major replacement parts required and extensive restoration needed;
metal deeply pitted; principal lettering, numerals, and design obliterated; wood badly scratched,
bruised, cracked, or broken; mechanically inoperative; generally undesirable as a collector's firearm.

Eurooptic.com subjects all our used optical products to a rigorous grading system and
makes every attempt to grade accurately and fairly to describe the product. All of our used
or demo products are taken on trade or are demo models and we pride ourselves in only
handling “gently used” items that meet our high standards. To give you guidance our

NEW/LIKE NEW/DEMO
• Optics/Glass: Optically excellent-lenses are in perfect shape, no scratches, marks or
blemishes
• Exterior: Body of scope or binocular shows no visible wear or marking, turrets and
adjustment knobs show no wear
• Packaging: Original factory packaging, slight wear on package is considered acceptable
• Accessories: most or all factory accessories original to the unit are included
• Demo: Essentially factory new. Used for show demonstration or product presentation. Will
have been handled and removed from factory box for demonstration but product is essentially
brand new with a reduced price
EXCELLENT
• Optics/Glass: Optically excellent-lenses are in perfect shape, no scratches, marks or visible
blemishes
• Exterior: Body of scope or binocular shows minor visible wear or marking, turrets and
adjustment knobs may show light wear. Scopes may have light ring marks from mounting
• Packaging: Original factory packaging may or may not be present-noted appropriately in
description
• Accessories: factory accessories original to the unit may be included, refer to item individual
description
GOOD
• Optics/Glass: Optically in good condition-lenses may have minor mark or blemishes but do
not inhibit normal use.
• Exterior: Body of scope or binocular shows use or visible wear. May have some markings,
turrets and adjustment knobs show minor wear. Scopes will have visible normal mounting ring
marks. Function of the product is not affected by the exterior appearance.
• Packaging: Original factory packaging may or may not be present- noted appropriately in
description.
• Accessories: Original factory packaging may or may not be present
