USTA <strong>Colorado</strong> and Denver Parks gearing up for<br />
ano<strong>the</strong>r season of Star Search<br />
Star Search is a free program supported by USTA <strong>Colorado</strong><br />
and Denver Parks and Recreation offering<br />
training outdoors every Saturday<br />
from August through October at<br />
Denver City Park. Its mission is to<br />
develop intermediate to advancedlevel<br />
players and to nurture and promote<br />
tennis skills of a select group of 7-12 year old players<br />
from culturally diverse communities throughout <strong>Colorado</strong> who are<br />
already involved, committed to and have a love of <strong>the</strong> sport of tennis. It<br />
provides a platform for those culturally diverse players to excel in <strong>the</strong>ir<br />
tennis skills and expand <strong>the</strong>ir involvement in more formal competitive<br />
events and activities, ie. Junior Team <strong>Tennis</strong>, High School <strong>Tennis</strong> and<br />
Sanctioned Tournaments. From <strong>the</strong> summer group of 50 players, 16<br />
will be selected to continue training indoors from December through<br />
April .<br />
Tryouts for <strong>the</strong> <strong>2009</strong> Star Search program will be held on<br />
Saturday, August 1 from 2-4pm at Denver City Park (courts 1-6).<br />
Interested juniors must fill out an application prior to <strong>the</strong> tryout. For<br />

As a fundamental program geared toward raising <strong>the</strong> next generation<br />
of tennis stars, <strong>the</strong> USTA <strong>Colorado</strong> Star Search program continues to make<br />
significant strides in developing, nurturing and promoting <strong>the</strong> tennis skills<br />
of blossoming young talent from culturally diverse communities. Our dedicated<br />
coaching staff continues to implement a year-round program of tennis<br />
instruction for <strong>the</strong>se 7-12 year olds, all at no cost to <strong>the</strong> players.<br />
