Pre-University Program<br />
Application prerequisites<br />
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens above the age of<br />
18 and under the age of 25, and have attained a senior high<br />
school diploma (not from China) and an excellent academic<br />
record;<br />
2. Applicants must have attained an elementary level of<br />
Chinese, i.e. more than one year of full-time Chinese language<br />
training or having attained the certificate of level 4 or above on<br />
the HSK examination.<br />
When to apply: March 10 – April 09, 2010.<br />
Where to apply: International Students Division, Pre-<br />
University Program Office, Shaoyuan Building 3, Room 103.<br />
Application procedures:<br />
1. Applicants should first come in person with your valid<br />
passport to the Pre-University Program Office;<br />
2. Submit a senior high school graduation certificate, official<br />
transcripts for the last three years of senior high school, and<br />
the certificate of HSK level 4(or above) or official transcript of<br />
one year of full-time Chinese language training;<br />
2. After reviewing the above materials, Peking University will<br />
provide qualified applicants the Application Form for Preenrollment<br />
International Students;<br />
3. The qualified applicants should then submit the following<br />
materials to the International Students Division of Peking<br />
University by May 21, 2010:<br />
i. Completed Application Form for Pre-enrollment<br />
International Students with photo on it;<br />
ii. Senior high school graduation certificate and official<br />
transcripts (original documents or notarized copies by<br />
authoritative organizations);<br />
iii. One photocopy of your valid passport (Passport type<br />
must be ordinary)<br />
iv. One letter of recommendation;<br />
v. Letter from financial guarantor indicating his or her<br />
name, profession, telephone number, and contact address;<br />
vi. Letter from sponsor in China, indicating his or her<br />
name, working unit, telephone number, and permanent<br />
address.<br />
vii. Application fee: 400RMB (cash or Yinlian Bank card).<br />
Non-refundable.<br />
Note: Applications with incomplete materials or without the<br />
required application fee will not be processed.<br />
Admission: Upon acceptance, the University will send the<br />
"Notification of Admission to Peking University” and "Visa<br />
Application Form for Foreigners" (Form JW202) by the end of<br />
June,2010.<br />
Registration Period: September 2010 (the date of<br />
registration will be specified in the “Notification of Admission<br />
to Peking University”).<br />
Tuition fee and Housing fees<br />
1. Tuition Fee: 26,000RMB per year per person (teaching<br />
materials are not included), which must be paid in full on the<br />
day of registration.<br />
2. Housing fees: Peking University provides students with<br />
accommodation in the Posts and Telecommunications Hotel,<br />
located 500 meters west of the main campus.<br />
Apartments: 58 RMB per day per bed. Two- or threeroom<br />
apartment with two beds in each room, equipped<br />
with air conditioner, color TV, telephone, bathroom, and<br />
room-cleaning service.<br />
Single room: 95RMB per day per room.<br />
