Pre-University Program
Application prerequisites
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens above the age of
18 and under the age of 25, and have attained a senior high
school diploma (not from China) and an excellent academic
record;
2. Applicants must have attained an elementary level of
Chinese, i.e. more than one year of full-time Chinese language
training or having attained the certificate of level 4 or above on
the HSK examination.
When to apply: March 10 – April 09, 2010.
Where to apply: International Students Division, Pre-
University Program Office, Shaoyuan Building 3, Room 103.
Application procedures:
1. Applicants should first come in person with your valid
passport to the Pre-University Program Office;
2. Submit a senior high school graduation certificate, official
transcripts for the last three years of senior high school, and
the certificate of HSK level 4(or above) or official transcript of
one year of full-time Chinese language training;
2. After reviewing the above materials, Peking University will
provide qualified applicants the Application Form for Preenrollment
International Students;
3. The qualified applicants should then submit the following
materials to the International Students Division of Peking
University by May 21, 2010:
i. Completed Application Form for Pre-enrollment
International Students with photo on it;
ii. Senior high school graduation certificate and official
transcripts (original documents or notarized copies by
authoritative organizations);
iii. One photocopy of your valid passport (Passport type
must be ordinary)
iv. One letter of recommendation;
v. Letter from financial guarantor indicating his or her
name, profession, telephone number, and contact address;
vi. Letter from sponsor in China, indicating his or her
name, working unit, telephone number, and permanent
address.
vii. Application fee: 400RMB (cash or Yinlian Bank card).
Non-refundable.
Note: Applications with incomplete materials or without the
required application fee will not be processed.
Admission: Upon acceptance, the University will send the
"Notification of Admission to Peking University” and "Visa
Application Form for Foreigners" (Form JW202) by the end of
June,2010.
Registration Period: September 2010 (the date of
registration will be specified in the “Notification of Admission
to Peking University”).
Tuition fee and Housing fees
1. Tuition Fee: 26,000RMB per year per person (teaching
materials are not included), which must be paid in full on the
day of registration.
2. Housing fees: Peking University provides students with
accommodation in the Posts and Telecommunications Hotel,
located 500 meters west of the main campus.
Apartments: 58 RMB per day per bed. Two- or threeroom
apartment with two beds in each room, equipped
with air conditioner, color TV, telephone, bathroom, and
room-cleaning service.
Single room: 95RMB per day per room.
