Your Opinion is Vital - Hospital Launches First Phase of
Community Engagement Program
“Street teams” hit the halls and a survey is launched to collect opinions on The Credit
Valley Hospital and Trillium Health Centre’s future direction and a new name
Mississauga/West Toronto (June 14, 2012) – The Credit Valley Hospital and Trillium Health
Centre has begun a series of community engagement activities designed to determine what is
most important to patients and the community as the Board of Directors shape a strategic plan for
the newly merged hospital.
Visitors at any of the hospital’s sites are being approached by in-hospital “street teams”. These
roving teams are seeking opinions from patients, families, staff, physicians and volunteers as the
organization begins to develop a new vision, mission and common set of values. The surveyors
also welcome input on possible names for the new hospital - one of the most frequently asked
questions about the organization. The surveys are being conducted in a non-intrusive way that
respects the delivery of safe, quality patient-centred care.
The hospital is engaging the broader community as well.
Electronic surveys sent via email and posted on the website
ensure everyone has the opportunity to submit their opinion.
“This engagement process is critical in ensuring our new strategic plan is reflective of our
community. The results will inform our work for the next decade.”
“We need to fully understand the needs of our growing and diverse community to be able to meet
future health care needs.” said Michelle DiEmanuele, President and CEO, The Credit Valley
Hospital and Trillium Health Centre. “We not only value our community’s input, we consider it vital
to our strategic planning process going forward.”
In the coming months the hospital will continue reaching out to the community through a range of
additional engagement opportunities, including focus groups, virtual consultations, and telephone
town halls.
