Donate a Turkey
Blevins and The Food Bank of Larimer County needs your help to provide turkeys this holiday season! More
than 2,500 turkeys are needed for holiday food baskets. Each year, the Food Bank provides services to over
40,000 residents of Larimer County-many of them are PSD students. PLEASE bring frozen turkeys to
Blevins on Tuesday November 15th by 8AM. Our Blevins Turkey Wranglers, Leslee Garcia and Diane
Schultz will meet you in the Blevins parking lot to take your donated turkey and deliver it to the Food Bank.
(Watch grocery store flyers for discounted prices.) Thanks for your support.

DISNEY’S MULAN JR.
Live Musical Production
Travel back to the legendary, story-telling days of ancient
China with this action-packed stage adaptation of the
1998 film, Disney’s Mulan.
The Huns have invaded, and it is up to the misfit Mulan
and her mischievous sidekick Mushu to save the Emperor!
Disney's Mulan Jr. is a heartwarming celebration of
culture, honor and a fighting spirit. The score includes favorites
like “Reflection,” “Honor to Us All” and “I’ll
Make a Man Out of You” as well as new songs that tell
the story of Mulan’s journey.
December 8 and 9 at 7:00 PM in the Blevins Auditeria.
Tickets will be: $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for
children (ages 3+) and PSD students. Children under 3
are free.

International Tour Trip
Join the Blevins International tour this March. The group is visiting France,

BLEVINS MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER-OF-THE-YEAR AWARD
Each year the Poudre School District recognizes and honors distinguished teachers.
Blevins Middle School has excellent teachers, and we would like to continue participating
in this formal recognition program.
Our 2011-2012 Blevins Teacher-of-the-Year will be recognized at a presentation ceremony,
given a plaque, and have their name added to the Teacher-of-the-Year plaque at
Blevins. An album with the nomination form, resume, letters of recommendation, photographs,
and personal memorabilia will be prepared for the selected teacher. This album
will be presented to the honored teacher to keep and remember all their teaching
memories. Blevins Teacher-of-the-Year Committee has committed to provide the necessary
resources to ensure an outstanding submittal to the Poudre School District Foundation.
This will include many hours of volunteer time and a financial commitment by
both Blevins and Blevins PTO. If our nominated teacher is selected by the Foundation
as one of Poudre School District’s distinguished teachers for 2011, he or she will be
recognized at an awards banquet in March and will receive a monetary award and
plaque.
We would like your help in selecting the Blevins’ Teacher-of-the-Year. We have provided
a list of eligible Blevins teachers on the next page. Please review the criteria below,
provide a short paragraph supporting your selection, and complete the information
part of the form. ALL FORMS MUST BE RETURNED TO THE BLEVINS
MAIN OFFICE BY NOV. 18th.
Nominees are judged on their educational and professional history, professional accomplishments,
community involvement, philosophy of teaching, impact on educational
issues, and their personal beliefs on the teaching profession.
For parents, students, and staff, please consider the criteria listed above to make your
selection for the Blevins Teacher of the Year. You might also use the following questions
to help with your selection:
How has this teacher collaborated with others to help students learn
Has this teacher interacted with students outside the regular classroom period in
clubs, extra-curricular activities, or special projects
Has this teacher participated in school district, state, regional or national professional
organizations or task forces or committees on educational issues
Has this teacher volunteered in the community
What kind of classroom techniques and/or classroom environment does this teacher
use that are innovative and unique
Has this teacher performed strongly in the classroom
Has this teacher exhibited excellent interpersonal skills
We are very excited about continuing to recognize our outstanding teachers. Thank
