Chapter 3: Setup 3-25 Set Supervisor/User Password The Supervisor Password controls access to the setup utility. The User Password controls access to the system at boot. [Set] indicates that a password is present. [Clear] indicatesthatapasswordisnotpresent. To enter a password, follow these steps: Note: The User Password cannot be set until after the Supervisor Password is set. 1. Move the cursor to the Set Supervisor Password or Set User Password option and press Enter. 2. Key-in the password and press Enter. 3. Confirm the password by keying it in again and pressing Enter. A Setup Notice confirms the changes have been saved. 4. Press Enter to return to the Security Menu Options screen. Note: Ifthepasswordsarenotknown,theCMOSmustbeclearedas described in Clearing the Passwords. Diskette Access Access to the diskette can be limited to the supervisor or can also be given to the user. 1. Move the cursor to Diskette Access and press Enter. 2.
