4-6 Chapter 4: Operating System Recovery Gold Disk Contents This section describes the contents of each of the Gold Disk Images, including all the additions and changes that were made on top of the generic operating system. Important: For each operating system, NCR strongly recommends that the drivers placed in the c:\install directory be left there for the purposes of servicing and maintaining the system. If you are using the information in this section to build your own operating system image and not using NCR’s provided OS Recovery image as a base image, then we recommend that all installed drivers be placed in a similar c:\install directory for support. NCR 7455 Win2000 OS Recovery Software (LPIN: D370-0518-0100) • Windows 2000 with SP1 installed • IE5 installed • Drivers installed for audio, LAN, Video, NCRSYSM • Drivers available for Bus Master, CD-ROM, Touch, USB • All drivers, installed or available, located in C:\Install\Drivers • Cab files available in C:\Install\I386 • Registry Version Control added • Windows Installer installed and tested • Sysprep.inf answer file created to: • Skip EULA • Automatically included proper PID • Ran Sysprep utility before ghosting

Chapter 4: Operating System Recovery 4-7 NCR 7455 NT Operating System Recovery Software (LPIN: D370-0474-0100) • Installed NT-Workstation 4.0 w/SP4a • Added SP6a directory with all associated install files • IE5 installed • MicroTouch 5.4 installed, patch added (mtsi8042.sys) • Bus Master installed • Windows Installer installed • Added folders for 3rd party drivers in C:\Install\Drivers • Ran Sysprep utility with the following parameters set − − Skip EULA Automatically include PID • Volume Line-In Muted • Scroll Bar Size set to 18 • Changed Serial Mouse to manual start to prevent event log errors • Installed SMI Control Panel • Added Run-Once code to clear event log, change timeout from 30 to 5 seconds • Changed colors from 256 to 65536 • Userinfo.exe added to Startup (User info input)
