F<strong>it</strong>ting<br />

Prior to being f<strong>it</strong>ted, the sealing member shall be greased,<br />

but not between the sealing member and the case. It is<br />

important that the seal is f<strong>it</strong>ted w<strong>it</strong>h adequate precision.<br />

The seal shall be pressed onto the shaft w<strong>it</strong>h a uniform and<br />

even pressure.<br />

The case must not be tapped directly w<strong>it</strong>h the hammer. The<br />

seal should therefore be pressed to the right pos<strong>it</strong>ion by<br />

means of a su<strong>it</strong>able assembly tool (see Figures 69, 70 and<br />

71). Since facial fixation beyond the press f<strong>it</strong> between the<br />

seal and the shaft is not provided, the assembly tool should<br />

be of a design as shown in Figures 69 and 71 in order to<br />

obtain the installation width b as per the dimension tables.<br />

The surface roughness of the shaft should not exceed 4 μm<br />

Ra. In add<strong>it</strong>ion, the shaft should be provided w<strong>it</strong>h a<br />

chamfer as per Figure 68. Sharp edges or burrs are not<br />

perm<strong>it</strong>ted. In the case of width b, a variation of +0.5 mm is<br />

permissible.<br />
