Offenders on SISP are supervised by specially tra<strong>in</strong>ed parole <strong>of</strong>ficers with caseload ratios <strong>of</strong><br />

14 SISP <strong>of</strong>fenders per <strong>of</strong>ficer. Officers are required to complete six face-to-face contacts per<br />

month and review the <strong>of</strong>fenders’ GPS location <strong>in</strong>formation each bus<strong>in</strong>ess day. Technical<br />

violations committed by <strong>of</strong>fenders supervised on SISP are not subject to the Division’s<br />

policy regard<strong>in</strong>g the enforcement <strong>of</strong> graduated sanctions.<br />

SISP parole <strong>of</strong>ficers respond to all violations that are generated dur<strong>in</strong>g normal bus<strong>in</strong>ess<br />

hours and can request parole violation warrants 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Alerts<br />

that are generated dur<strong>in</strong>g non-bus<strong>in</strong>ess hours (weekends, holidays and hours between 5<br />

pm and 8 am) are processed by the Command Center.<br />

How long are <strong>of</strong>fenders required to rema<strong>in</strong> on SISP<br />

Offenders rema<strong>in</strong> on SISP until they discharge their term <strong>of</strong> supervision or until the<br />

designated parole panel votes to remove the SISP special condition and allow the <strong>of</strong>fender to<br />

be placed on a different type <strong>of</strong> caseload. All SISP <strong>of</strong>fenders are referred to the designated<br />

parole panel annually for consideration for removal <strong>of</strong> the SISP special condition.<br />

What is Electronic Monitor<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Electronic Monitor<strong>in</strong>g (EM) is a technology that supplements the ability <strong>of</strong> the parole <strong>of</strong>ficer<br />

to supervise <strong>of</strong>fenders, as well as to provide an additional surveillance tool to the parole<br />

<strong>of</strong>ficer. The technology is used to monitor an <strong>of</strong>fender’s pre-approved curfew and can be<br />

used as a sanction for <strong>of</strong>fenders requir<strong>in</strong>g a higher level <strong>of</strong> supervision than normal<br />

supervision provides.<br />
