NDA, Junior Academy open house slated Notre Dame Academy (NDA), for girls in grades 7 to 12, believes the key to educating today’s young women for the future is to create: life-long learners, critical thinkers, global-minded awareness, structured inquirers, team players, strong communicators, and self-starters. Families can find out more at the school’s open house, November 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Their unique approach to education provides young women with a variety of educational options that fits their learning style from a collegeprep curriculum offering honors and Advanced Placement options to the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program for young women who want to push their limits. What makes NDA’s IB Program so distinctive is its focus on women’s education and offering both full diploma and a certificate program so that more young women can benefit. So if a young woman has an interest in a particular subject, for example English, she can earn an IB certificate in English, if she passes required course work and testing. NDA has the largest program in northwest Ohio, with almost 200 young women interested. With more than 25 teachers, counselors and administrators trained in the IB pedagogy and curriculum, its philosophy will become a part of every course. Being identified as an IB school further enhances NDA’s already outstanding reputation with colleges and universities. Recognizing that families are searching for ways to reduce college costs, NDA has expanded opportunities to earn college credit in high school as well as gain a competitive edge through a variety of options.
