Obituary<br />

•WALTER STACHOWICZ<br />

Walter “Beans” Stachowicz,<br />

89, died Thursday,<br />

November 1, 20<strong>12</strong>. He was<br />

born July 17, 1923, in <strong>Rossford</strong>,<br />

where he lived most of<br />

his life. For the past six<br />

months, he resided in<br />

Shelby, North Carolina, near<br />

his son and family.<br />

He graduated from <strong>Rossford</strong><br />

High School, served his<br />

country in World War II,<br />

being decorated with a Purple<br />

Heart, and worked at<br />

Libby-Owens-Ford for 35<br />

years.<br />

He was an avid fan of the<br />

Detroit Tigers.<br />

Mr. Stachowicz is survived<br />

by his daughter, Celia<br />

(John) Blanchong; son,<br />

Scott (Lisa) Stachowicz;<br />

grandchildren, Tammy<br />

(Greg) Liakos, Matthew<br />

Blanchong, Gina, Sam, Alec<br />

and Liana Stachowicz, and<br />

great-grandchildren, Nick<br />

and Jack Liakos. He was<br />

preceded in death by his<br />

wife of 60 years, Rita.<br />

<strong>The</strong> family will receive<br />

friends on Friday, November<br />

9, from 9 to <strong>11</strong> a.m., at<br />
