Dear Birth Parents,
Thank you for taking the time to
read our letter and learn about us.
Ryan and I are very excited to
start our family and we are
grateful to courageous people like
you that help our dream of
beginning a family come true. We
understand that this is a difficult
decision for you, but hope and pray
that we can give you a glimpse of
how much love we have to give to
your child.
Ryan and I have been married for
five and a half years. We are
thrilled at the prospect of
becoming parents. Through our
struggle with infertility, we have realized that God has a plan for us. We know that love is
what creates a family and that God’s plan for our family is adoption. Although dealing with
infertility has been difficult, it has made our marriage stronger and has brought us even
closer to God as we rely on him to guide us on our journey to become parents. We can’t wait
to experience the joys of parenthood.
Ryan and I are very close to our families and enjoy spending time with all of them. While
Ryan’s family is small I come from a much larger family. Both of my parents each have
eight siblings and all of them have children. Our families are very excited and supportive
about the addition to our family. Both of our parents have been married for over thirty
years. Ryan has one older brother and sister. We have two nephews and one niece. We
have enjoyed playing games with them and watching them grow. We can’t wait to watch
our own child play with his/her cousins. I (Dana) have one brother and a sister-in-law.
Although they do not have kids yet, I am fortunate to be a godmother to one of my cousin’s
boys. My godchild, Max is 2 years old and a constant joy in my life. I love the time I get to
spend with him and I am fascinated at watching him grow and develop his own personality.
Our child will be my parents’ very first grandchild. Both grandparents are very excited for
us and can hardly wait to spoil him/her.

We are a young and energetic couple that shares many hobbies and interests. We are both
animal lovers and have a seven year old Jack Russell Terrier named Daisy. We met each
other playing volleyball and we still play sand and indoor leagues. We enjoy traveling and
have been to many other states, the Bahamas and Mexico. Every summer we go with my
parents, my brother and his wife, aunts and uncles, and cousins to Montauk State Park to
go trout fishing. We enjoy spending time on my grandma’s farm fishing and camping with
my dad’s brothers and sisters and their families. We also enjoy taking walks, barbequing,
and visiting new places.
Ryan and I feel we have so much to offer a child. Ryan is an auto body technician and has a
passion for cars. He is very patient, sensitive, has a strong commitment to his family and a
great sense of humor. I know he will be a wonderful father and provide our child with
many positive experiences and new things. I am an elementary teacher and I look forward
to providing our child with a stable and loving environment where they can explore and
learn new things. Both Ryan and I know how important communication is and look
forward to building this bond by talking with our child and listening to what is important to
them.

to know more. We will always be eternally grateful for the love you have for your child. We
hope to share in that love with you and teach your child to the best of our abilities.

Our Family Life
We are a fun‐loving couple who has been married since 2003. We have a close knit family and spend a lot of
time with all our family members. We celebrate all holidays together and spend summers barbequing. We
enjoy family vacations, outdoor activities, and playing various sports. When asked to describe ourselves Ryan
is patient, funny, loving and talkative He enjoys working on cars, camping, playing volleyball, hockey, and
baseball. Dana is caring, smart, patient and organized. She enjoys playing volleyball, taking walks, reading,
and fishing. We have a 7 year old Jack Russell Terrier named Daisy. Ryan is employed as an auto body
technician and Dana is employed as an elementary school teacher.
Our Feelings about Adoption
We have always known that we have wanted to be parents. We have unsuccessfully went through infertility
treatments and feel that God has led us to adoption. We plan to share our child’s adoption journey with them.
We will always be honest and answer any questions they may have. We are willing to share pictures and write
letters with birthparents. We want our child to know how much we have prayed that they would join our family
and that their birthparent’s decisions were made completely out of the love they have for them. We are willing
to share pictures and write letters with our child’s birthparents.
Our Views on Parenting, Education & Discipline
We feel that we understand the importance of education and creating a love for learning in our child. We know
that it is extremely important to read to our child and to provide them with many experiences to learn. We
hope that our child will attend college and continue learning throughout their life. We feel that it is important
to be role models for our child and to provide them with love and guidance. We want to provide a loving and
nurturing home for our child. Our child will know God and will grow up attending church. We know that
children need consistent expectations, patience, and open communication. We want to talk with our child and
develop a relationship where communication is open and loving. When disciplining our child we believe that
time‐out, time‐in, and loss of a privilege such as television can be very effective. We want our child to always
feel loved unconditionally and to have positive life experiences.
Our Child Care Plans
Dana will take a six week leave from teaching. After this time period, our child will be cared for by a stay‐athome
mother.
Our Religious Life
We regularly attend church. We are members of a Catholic church five miles from our home. We both feel it is
important to raise our child in our church family.
